This place is the best place in Louisiana for me! I’m so proud of people who work there and so grateful this place exists. Everything I’ve tried was so good. Thank you so much for bringing real food to the neighborhood! Sourdough bread made from scratch, delicious cookies, quiche and sandwiches. Healthy breakfast options and good coffee, great place for lunch as well.
Highly recommend this vegan cafe. Food is outstanding and the staff is welcoming. Great menu selection for both breakfast and lunch. We wish they had a location in our hometown.
Their king cake is decadent! The sandwiches are amazing! Everything is vegan but you would never guess it. The baked goods look sweet!! Awesome atmosphere! Definitely a must!
The bakers make fantastic baked goods and know what they are doing. The bread is some of the best quality, if not the best, in the whole area. However, I rarely go because dating back to when they opened the workers are always terrible. They are rude and snotty and make the entire experience extremely unpleasant. I've been in the summer when an employee wearing a tank top with substantial armpit hair was reaching over the baked goods to grab some others and it seemed extremely unsanitary. I do not feel welcome or comfortable here, instead the workers have an attitude towards customers that is far from welcoming. It is unfortunate that their food can't be appreciated because of their workers.
SUCH a great vegan bakery!I stopped by after running a half marathon race in the morning, which may have been a mistake (because I was very hungry when I arrived). I got a bunch of things, including a quiche to take with me on the plane for breakfast when my flight departed New Orleans the following morning.Everything was so delicious - The Mighty Melt, the croissant, blueberry tea biscuit, and strawberry almond layer cake. I wish we had Breads on Oak where I live! But I am glad that I got to experience it when I was visiting New Orleans.
Such an amazing restaurant. The baked goods are some of the best I’ve had in my life. The staff is super friendly. I’ve experienced many plant based restaurants around the world and Breads on Oak is by far one of the best. It’s a shame there isn’t more locations throughout Louisiana. Would highly recommend giving it a try regardless if you are plant based or not.
A little information about me, I have both an egg allergy and a lactose intolerance so you already know how hard it is for me to find desserts to eat. But this place is the definition of AMAZING! Of course I’d looked at the reviews before coming to this bakery and little did I know, it’s the #1 vegan bakery in town!! I had also been surprised to know that there were a few (very sweet!) cats in this bakery so we got to pet them and see how pretty they are. I had gotten the strawberry almond cake and although it was $6 a slice, it was definitely worth it!! Would come again 100%
So upsetting!! I went to the Breads On Oak website for an online order. I placed an order for $70 worth of food. I was looking forward to enjoying my selections, but never received them. Their site took me to Uber Eats. The Uber Eats driver delivered the wrong order (it was just a bread loaf). I got my refund from Uber Eats, but I still never got the food I wanted to try. I called Breads on Oak and the gentleman said my order was still sitting there, but it was nothing they could do unless I re-ordered. If I re-ordered were they going to give me the food that has been sitting there for an hour?? So, their website sends you to Uber Eats for delivery, I didn't select Uber Eats. Uber Eats messed up and the customer suffers. They should think about this, now they have $70 worth of food that has to be trashed and they are out of the $70. This does not make good business sense. Sorry I never got to enjoy their food.
Bread is the focus here and is quite good.The pastries and cookies are also very good, and everything is vegan. Very good variety of items.The coffee is so-so.
