Cajun Chicken Wings

We showed up on a Friday during an incubator pop-up weekend so we got to try Cornbread and Milk's Tomato Basil Tartine and the Candied Lemon Basil Cornbread. The service, food, and atmosphere was impeccable!

A great place to eat and hang out with live entertainment. The food can be great, but I have to knock it for being inconsistent. I have had great food here and mediocre. The chicken sandwich is consistently good. The wings, IMO, you can skip them. They also occasionally just run out of whole sections of their menu. Be prepared with a back up choice or two.

Discovered Bourre last week- we can walk from our sons apt. nearby- thought it was a cute outdoor beer garden/venue for local musicians- which it is. We ordered a couple of beers and enjoyed the music. Our mistake was in looking up their menu online, thinking it sounded delicious and going back for dinner last night. It. Was. Awful. 51$ for two cans of Catahoula beer, one “New Orleans BBQ Shrimp Po’Boy” which was in NO WAY New Orleans BBQ shrimp- but was instead 6small shrimp, which were good, no sauce or anything, on a semi toasted small roll- for 14$ ( I believe), one brisket sandwich for 12$ - so full of mushy fat both my son and I had to spit a bunch out- the meat that was left - about two pieces maybe the size of a 50 cent piece ( again on a small, think 5 inch section of hoagie roll), was dry and almost bereft of any sauce, and one unfortunate order of their “fried Brussels sprouts with homemade bacon and vinegarette sauce. Sounds delicious right? We opened our styrofoam box to a black, black box of charred leaves. There was one small little piece of bacon ( which was tasty) and a nice vinaigrette over the char. Seriously- for those of you who love Brussels sprouts like we do there was so much potential for this dish- that was lost in the blackened mess of charred leaves.:(- I think we came upon two actual Brussels sprouts, the rest was charred leaves- maybe good after a full night of drinking in the Quarter and you’re desperate for hot food? We came to the conclusion that there was a reason no one else had food at their tables- This is a cute location for a beer or daiquiri before heading out to a real restaurant. You might hear some fun music. But we wouldn’t trust any of the menus you see online- the food was “sub par” to be kind. ( And I’m being super kind here- there’s too much good food in this area now to be wasting your hard earned bucks at Bouree!

I like the fresh-fruit daiquiris. The wings are also tasty.

Easy to drive by this place if a local hadn't turned me onto it. It's on the side of the road and isn't much to look at but has some killer grub.We got the pimento cheese and brisket po boy and the Buffalo cauliflower po boy with a side of the Brussel sprouts and the meat pie. (All pictured except the meat pie) and there wasn't a bad one in the bunch.- the brisket was smoked and the pimento cheese gave it a rich and savory flavor.- the Buffalo cauliflower is not normally something I'd seek out on a po boy especially in NOLA but I'm glad I did as it had the right amount of kick.-the Brussel sprouts were something else all together, they had a crisp roasted flavor but a sweet and tangy sauce and a generous helping of some think junks of bacon. If there was ever a way to make Brussel sprouts taste better than other things on the menu this is the way to do it.They also had an interesting selection of local beers that I haven't found elsewhere. Relatively moderate prices and out door seating was a plus. Atmosphere is pretty no frills but I'll take great food over fine dining any day.. I'd eat here again in a second.

Delicious king cake daiquiri. New Orleans bbq po boy was good. I enjoyed having my meal in the outside sitting area.

Food was amazing. Great cold local beer. Server was very sweet. Can’t ask for anything more

King Cake daiquiri was delicious and fresh! Wings were great and I was pleasantly surprised that the celery and carrots on the side were pickled and had a kick! Happy and full :)

They said that they have burnt end chili cheese fries. There is even a picture with the BBQ on top. I got my lackluster fries with no BBQ. Then I was told they don't have BBQ on the fries it is in the chili. I came only for this dish and it was a huge disappointment. And it didn't taste good either. No seasoning just bland.

Love the outdoor seating. The band was great. The frozen drinks available the last night I went were gross. :( I’m not a hurricane fan and the other was a chocolate, banana, coffee concoction that managed to taste worse than it sounds. I should have stuck with beer. Haven’t eaten here but the food looks great. I had a frozen drink in the summer and it was much better!
