My friends and I went there & ordered a giant spread of the most delicious Chinese food I've ever tasted. The dry chili chicken is one of the best things I've eaten in a long time & I don't think anything will ever compare to it. Definitely going to come back one day & order the Peking duck.
Hostess was not rude, but certainly not friendly and wore no smile. We had a reservation so we sat in one of the booths. Service was fine and pleasant enough. Now the food: We’re from NY area and eat Chinese often. The egg rolls were decent, shrimp and pork dumplings pretty good, but pork potstickers had a weird fennel/licorice taste. Pork Fried rice tasted equally strange. We all had one bite of Eggplant side dish and left the remainder untouched. Very greasy and did not taste good. Scallop egg foo young was okay but the sauce not to our liking; it tasted like pure oyster sauce and chicken stock. Dan Dan noodles were very average. The only thing we all truly enjoyed was the Beef Chow Fun. Serving sizes were adequate but we left hungry as we didn’t eat much of the food. With drinks and tip $200. Cannot recommend this place at all but obviously other reviewers disagree.
AMAZING ?We wanted Chinese and this place was the closest to where we were, so we decided to give it a try. It isn't very big but nice and cozy. We sat at the bar do to limited seating (we did not make reservations). We ordered the pork pot stickers as an appetizer and was BLOWN away. I've never tasted any better and the soy/black vinegar was insanely good, it did a weird thing to our mouths lol Felt like tiny explosions on our tongues or like when you eat pop rocks. So creative. For my main dish I ordered the spicy eggplant which did not disappoint, they were super spicy and delicious! Great drinks. We loved it!
Amazing food! We tried the pork pot stickers, crispy beef and beef chow fun. All so good. The portions aren't big but a perfect size. They don't deliver or work with ant food delivery companies. They do have pickup tho.
Food was excellent! we had potstickers, egg drop soup, shrimp wontons and egg foo yong. All outstanding. Kudos to the kitchen and our waiter Adam, Now the bad. The table we were seated at was directly under the air conditioner. We asked the hostesss (Janae-not sure of spellng) if it could be turned down. Either she did not understand or did not listen so she offered to turn the air up. Then she offered to seat us outside although there were other tables available inside. It was not clear if she intended to re-seat us. We moved to another table we had pointed out to her. She came over and angrily berated us repeating You cant move your seat. I have reservations for these tables. Both our original table and this one were four tops so I am not sure why it would make a difference, she repeatedly berated us about the matter. Perhaps we were wrong to move but for a front of house staff to "scold" a guest seems out of line.
Myself and my partner (visiting from the UK) visited this Chinese last night with our friends who live in New Orleans. The service was good throughout, food and general atmosphere also impossible to fault. I wasn’t sure what to expect as it definitely doesn’t look like a typical Chinese restaurant from back home but we were very impressed. Special kudos go to the chilli beef and the broccoli side dish but all of it was great. When the menu is short you know they’re nailing every single dish and this is definitely true here. Keep it up!
Outrageous food experience in NOLA. The smell of spices hit you when you come in the door and each dish is better than the next, with a great mix of unusual flavors. CHEF Richard Horner is a master. Our server Valerie was flawless. Get out of the quarter one night and have a unique NOLA Chinese food experience.
The food was super salty and not good so it really wasn't edible. We paid over $50 and left hungry. The only positive was the service.
This place serves awesome food. I had the Dry Chilli ChickenDuck Lo MeinSpicy Stir Fry Egg PlantMarinated CabbageSteamed Rice. everything was so so delicious. The food was so good There wasn’t anything I could think of that tasted better at any restaurant.
