Ordered the vegan bulgogi banh mi, not expecting too much having been let down by vegan options before, but it blew me away! Great flavor, great texture, worth the price! Cool place!
Excellent place for a Banh Mi. My husband had the classic pork and I had the shrimp and both were good! The shrimp on the boom boom shrimp was cooked perfecty and sauced just the right amount. I was afraid it would be too wet and make my bread soggy. It didnt and was well balanced We didn't try any fries or other side dishes but the Thia tea paired well with my sandwich. Will be returning to try other things!
Bahn mis were pretty good. The price point is extremely high though, especially for the size. Service was mixed... the lady at the register was rather unfriendly, but the gentleman who ran the food to the table seemed to genuinely care about the service and customer satisfaction.I would love to see a better price point to justify ordering two banh mis.(This was an experience from about 3 weeks ago in the event that anything mentioned has changed since then)
Yum yum.Straight line to good food, no adornments.Po-boy with protein, seasoned sauce, and fresh herbs+veggies make a delicious meal without much fuss. Friendly staff help, too.Sit inside with a Saigon beer, or watch people from one of the Picknick tables on the sidewalk.
Love love this New Orleans twist on bahn mi’s! So fresh and so full of flavor!
The Metairie location is great! This Uptown one is not. Fries are overly salty. Banh Mi were significantly less filled than the Metairie location.
So delicious! Went for the first time last night and tried the Bang bang shrimp, K-town fries, and spicy Asian BBQ (maybe thats not the right names) and ALL THREE WERE DELICIOUS! We've already recommended to 3 different people and will be back!
I have had the Eggrolls, the Grilled Pork Bahn Mi, the Seasoned Fries and the Chicken Katsu Bahn Mi on two separate occasions. The only thing I wouldn't get again was the Katsu Chicken Bahn Mi. I found the chicken was too big to eat easily, the sauce made the bread soggy and the bitterness of the picked carrots and diakon took away from some of the other flavors it had going on. It was fine, no complaints, but in retrospect, I'd have rather gone with a more-traditional Bahn Mi. The first one I had was excellent.
We ordered buffalo wings, crab rangoons and a pork rice plate. The crab rangoons arrived slightly overcooked, yet tepid and limp, suggesting that they had been precooked and poorly warmed. The buffalo wings were also just warm, not hot, not terribly flavored, and served with standard frozen and bagged fries. The pork on the rice plate was tasty, but very fatty. The kicker for me was even though we dined in, all sauces and sides came out in plastic containers and we were given bagged plastic silverware to eat our dinner.I've lived in the neighborhood for 10 years and had higher hopes and love Vietnamese cuisine. Maybe they can get away with this in Metairie, but this is New Orleans and Magazine Street, where laziness doesn't have a long shelf life. Get it together or move on.
Glad to see a new place open up at this location. I had the Spicy Brisket Bahn Mi, it was good but it could have been a little more tender. I would like to try it as chopped brisket too.
