I approve. Perhaps bit pricey, but nothing outrageous though. I personally don’t like the online order systems too much but this one worked OK.Burgers, quesadillas and tacos all had good flavors and quality ingredients.
We only had the nachos but they were so good I’ll have to come back to try more!
Definitely has potential to be great. The flavors were good. But none of the tacos we got were even warm. I just don’t want room temperature meat. That’s gross.If you want tacos, go a block or two down the street for Barracuda. It really blows this place out of the water.
My wife had the street corn and the guaq and chips with shrimp, and she liked the corn, but quac/shrimp was no big deal. My Californian fish taco was lava hot and my carny pork taco was cold. Not a fan of the thick, rubbery, tasteless corn tortillas. Both were good flavor wise, but better to be had nearby. Wanted to order a burger, but none available when placing the order. Service was good but had to ask to get table wiped off. Don't offer anything but soft drinks or beer, and a margarita would be nice with Mexican food.So more minuses than pluses and only reason to return would be to maybe try one of the burgers.
I've had Avo Taco a few times now because I live very close and I've had confusing results. The reason is because all of the Mexican themed foods I've had have been a letdown, but the burger was one of my favorites in the city. I got the St. Charles burger and it was cooked perfectly and had tons of flavor. I highly recommend the burger. The biggest letdown was the shrimp quesadilla. Not to be brutal, but when you pay nearly 15 for a quesadilla you expect something pretty loaded. It had nearly nothing on it, and just overall was not a good flavor. We also had the guac and queso, which were average but small portions. We've tried a couple tacos as well. The shrimp taco we had was very good. We also had a steak taco that didn't have any flavor. We actually didn't eat half of it because it was like chewing on nothing and it kind of creeped us out. I'll definitely be back for the burger, but I'll be going to other spots for Mexican food.
So delicious. I’m from a small part of Fort Worth, TX that’s known for its fantastic tacos. I usually don’t order tacos away from home but AVO TACO looked so inviting. Everything was super fresh and scrumptious. Just the right amount of sauces, cheese, and flavors. The street corn was divine!!!
Food was okay at best. The chicken wasn't seasoned all that well. For the amount of money spent, it was meh. I don't plan on going back.Oh and according to guy on the phone, they offered a military appreciation discount. However, when I arrived there to pick up and pay for my order, I was told that the discount only applies to the alcohol. I replied that I don't drink and guy went on to give me some drinking coins/ tokens. Smh
Overpriced, especially if you order online. This tiny thing of queso is $5 and same size guac is $6. They're both decent, but the last 2 times I've had the queso, it's been watery and not really cheesy. The most shocking thing, though, was this cheese quesadilla. This plain, boring cheese quesadilla is the stuff that you cooked when you were 21 at 3am. Plain tortilla, 1 cheap cheese, NO sides/sauces like salsa or sour cream, and somehow this costs $10. I can't get over this, especially when Barracuda is a <5 min walk away and they have fantastic cheese quesadillas for $4. Don't get me wrong -- I'm not expecting groundbreaking stuff from a cheese quesadilla, but if you charge me $10 for it, it should have some kind of quality.About the tacos: I've had pretty good experiences with Avo Taco's fun and relatively creative tacos. However, the corn tortilla they use is way too thick and plain, which takes from the flavor and quality of the tacos.
The service was great even though they were busy . The tacos are a must have !
Second time here. Tacos are shareable and delish! I could eat the mushroom taco all day long! Great, laidback atmosphere!
