Ordered the Caprese sandwich and it was very, very tasty. I’d go back again next time I’m looking for something lighter than standard Cajun fare.
Was very pleased to find that this place offered gluten free sandwiches. I got the gluten free muffaletta, and it was fantastic! I ordered the 1/2 muffaletta and the portion was large enough to last me 2 meals. Very satisfied, and I hope to visit this place again next time I'm in NOLA!
Recently visited Albertos twice on my NOLA trip. The muffulettas are fantastic. The location in the French Market makes people watching fun.
Ordered a half of a Muffaletta. Absolutely amazing. One of the best meals of my trip. Right next door to the best beignet place. This was one of the highlights of our trip.
We drive into the city just to eat at Alberto's in the market. The food is amazing, and the customer service is superb. Highly recommend. Turned me into a sandwich lover! The salads are generous and delicious as well.
The muffulletta was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Definitely spend the extra few dollars and get a 1/2 rather than the 1/4. Make no mistake, the service by both people that were working was less than friendly but the sandwich is so delicious I would hate for someone to miss out because of that. I just turned on the "saccharine sweet" to over compensate for their rude.
The muffalato sandwich here is good. But the experience getting it was one I'd never repeat. We were told it would be a 35 minute wait. OK, fine. After 50 minutes we were still waiting. When I asked how much longer, they appeared to have lost our order in the queue. By the time we got our food, we'd waited an hour. And not one word of apology or acknowledgement about their error or our inconvenience. A simple "I'm sorry" would have gone a long way. Instead, this place left a bad taste in my mouth. There's no friendliness or joy among the folks who work here, and I felt taken for granted.
In my quest for THE muffuletta Alberto’s has a lot of pros: the bread to filling ratio is balanced, the bread is chewy, the meat and cheese are fresh and flavorful; the cons: the muffuletta is heated (this is a personal preference so it might be a pro to you); the olive salad is crunchy but in my opinion needs more olives to give it that just-right briny saltiness. The size for half a muffuletta is standard and can be shared between two. The price is also competitive.Service is fast and expect to wait for your food as it is made to order. If you find yourself as a tourist or as a local wondering the French Market and want a tasty muffuletta try Alberto’s.But, for me, THE quest continues…
Awesome muffaletta!! Central Grocery was closed so I tried Alberto's and it did not disappoint! So good!
Gluten Free Muffuletta was incredible. Gluten free bread is rarely something to write home about so this was a wonderful surprise. If I hadn't discovered this on my last day in NOLA, I would have had it every day! They were busy and it was a 30 minute wait for the food, but it was 100% worth it.
