We Have Been Trying To Eat At Our Favorite Restaurant Adolfo’s For Years Now! Last Trip, After Covid, Hurricanes, And Even Owner/Family Illness They Are Back And WE LOVE IT?❤️ Owner Head Chef Adolfo Has Been Wowing Locals In The Know Down In NOLA for years at Adolfo’s On Frenchmen Street tucked above Great Dive Bar Apple Barrel. We Found It By Accident One Night seeing a line of people waiting for it to open one evening. Like Most This Family Owned Jem Struggled with Covid Shut Down, Storms, And Most Recently Adolfo Himself Had Some Health Issues. Since Then His Wife, Son, And Staff Have Stepped Up To Bring Back Our Favorite Items! Our Server Was Adolfo’s Son Cruz And He Was Awesome! He Has Been Working With His Mom Bringing Back His Dad’s Awesome Dishes Back To New Menu’s Which Are Now Available 7 Nights A Week AND They now even excepted Cards but we still paid in cash because we thought it was Cash only like past. I Highly Recommend The Special Stuffed Flounder In The Ocean Sauce And My Wife Always Gets The Amazing Chicken Tyler (Piccata) The Must Have Is The Fresh Pasta Starter Dish With The Garlic Bread It’s Soooo Amazing! We have had great meals here in the past but this May we made a reservation and returned. This has always been a cash only place but apparently they take credit cards now. Our dinner was substandard and nowhere near the quality we have had in the past but the real problem is that they took the cash we left for our dinner ticket and then also charged the credit card we purchased after-dinner drinks with for the entire dinner! Essentially we paid for dinner twice and someone stole the cash we left. NEVER GO HERE! THEY ARE THIEVES!!!

The food was wonderful! I’ve never had food this tasty. A great place for people who are visiting New Orleans to stop and have dinner. You won’t be disappointed.

The food was absolutely delicious, the chefs amazing, I was so impressed that such delicious food could be created in such a small kitchen! This definitely is must if you ever visit New Orleans!

Katherine and Hector are so wonderful here! We hung out in the bar, chatted with them for a good while, had great drinks, and learned where to explore in New Orleans. Highly recommend coming here!

Yikes! As soon as you walk in, there is a smell. I looked at my friend, and he thought the smell was decent. I knew better, but I just went with the flow because I'm easy to please, and I was hungry. Boy....I wish I would had listened to my gut and nose. The server was super sweet and good. She was the only good thing about the night, and I made sure to give her 20% just because of her service. It was def not for the food. The food was horrible. DO NOT GET THE OCEAN SAUCE! That was the bad smell! The baby shrimp and USDA meat for $35 was horrific. Who gets steak swimming in a plate of this nasty sauce they claim is so good. It was gross! I live in MD, and I know good seafood. This place was horrible. Oh, the salad. Wow. They literally gave a few pieces of some green leaves and their salad dressing. That's it. Not a tomato, carrot, cheese, olive, or anything else. So odd. Now the mussels were good, and I'll give it to them. Very tasty in a good sauce. Ultimately, skip it. The smell of the shrimp is the bad smell that lingers in the place. Ohhh!!! The drinks were super watered down. Like super!!!!!! Don't get a mixed drink there. I suggest just getting the shot and making your own drink.

Quaint little hole in the wall that did not disappoint! The staff was pleasant & friendly. The cooks working in that tiny kitchen were efficiently whipping up dishes of heaven! The flavors, sauces & food over all were absolutely amazing!! Best we experienced in New Orleans!!

It’s been a while since we have been to Adolfo’s and we were looking forward to a great meal. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The menu is much smaller than it used to be so you would think everything would be done very well. My son’s veal ocean was barely edible and not even warm when it got to the table. My veal piccata was sub par at best. The cannelloni appetizer was the only good thing. It honestly felt like our meals had been prepared well ahead of time and sat for a long time before they were served. Service was just ok. Side of pasta came out well after the rest of the meal was served. I doubt we will be back.

We walked 1.3 miles to get here. Was it worth it? For some of us, yes. This is a busy place with tables closely packed together. We were a group of 8 on the 2nd floor where there is a kitchen and a small bar. Tables were packed so close together that you really had to worm your way around the room to get to the restroom or stairs. You also couldn't avoid the conversations at the other tables. My wife had the chicken picada dish and she didn't like it. It was too dry and salty for her. I had the flounder special with the Ocean Sauce and it was excellent. It seemed that everyone who ordered an item that had the Ocean Sauce loved it. The prices were very reasonable, and I kind of liked the ambiance and the art on the walls, but would I walk 1.3 miles to eat here again? Probably not.

It was disappointing from start to finish. I read the previous reviews and we thought we made a good choice. Service was decent, our waitress was friendly and pleasant. But the food was bad.First the bread we received came cold, like out of the refrigerator cold. I asked the waitress if this is how they served bread and she said yes, Adolfo threw away the toaster. ??‍♂️Then the pasta came flavorless and runny. It was more soup like than a spaghetti sauce. The waitress agreed it looked bad and wasn’t supposed to be served like this. This is an ITALIAN restaurant, how do you mess up spaghetti! Then we noticed the bartender chopping salad and plating the food. Zero hygiene ??‍♂️The main was delicious but lacked any garnishes. Just chicken, 3 cappers, and two leafs of artichoke. For the price it was pathetic. Never again!
