The wait was worth the food selection. The oysters and soft shell crabs were awesome. First time I tried etouffee and it was delicious!
After enjoying chargrilled oysters at Drago we decided to try Acme since it was close to our hotel and was highly recommended. We were not disappointed in fact would highly recommend this place. We got seating without a very long wait. Along with the oysters-extremely tasty we ate Jambalaya and an oyster po boy. Every dish was well seasoned and tasty. Service was also quick and friendly. We will definitely return to this restaurant several times!
Enjoyed so much we ate here 3 times while on our vacation. Tyrese was our 1st waiter, he was amazing is the reason we went back. He definitely told us we'd be back.. the food was amazing...
Always go for oysters. Still good but not up to past meals The boom boom shrimp were tasty. Shrimp poor boy was on the dry side. Crab cakes disappointing. Still worth the stop
Fantastic service and good vibe! My family ordered the 1/2 shrimp po-boy with side(fries), the 1/2 shrimp & 1/2 fish platter, and the New Orleans medley. The menu is acquired via a QR code; therefore, the menu you see online is the one you directly order from. The seafood tasted fresh and was cooked excellently. The New Orleans medley had just enough of a kick. Someone who normally doesn’t eat spicy food could enjoy it. We also ordered a side of hush puppies & would definitely recommend. I’m honestly not sure what’s in the center of them, but it’s surprising and extra yummy - they’re unlike any hush puppy I’ve had before.
We come to the French Quarter twice a year and always eat at Acme. Not anymore. This last visit the food and service were awful. The line is still outside because people don't know any better. My husband ordered chicken and andouille gumbo. There was NO chicken and NO sausage at all and the roux tasted like it came from a can. Our chargrilled oysters- which is their signature dish were terrible- only half had cheese on them and there was very little liquid to sop with the bread. I had red beans and rice with sausage with not enough red beans. The server had the worst attitude ever- complete disinterest and a "whaddayah want cuz you're bothering me" attitude. Skip the line and go across the street to Felix's.
The chargrilled oysters were top-notch. I also had the baked potato soup and it was great as well. I'll definitely return.
My first time visiting New Orleans. The service and food was excellent! I had the New Orleans Medley and also tried oysters for the first time ever. The Shucker Chef Mike “Hollywood” mixed some sauce to make sure I had a good first experience trying oysters.
Ordered oysters as an appetizer and our meal. Had to ask several times for the oysters. So after everyone gets their meal, finishes their meal, the oysters arrived. Service was mediocre at best. Hostess was very friendly and accommodating.
My sister's wedding reception was held in the private dining room. The dining room was large enough to hold our party of 40. We had 5 round tables with 6 chairs each and a rectangle table with 10 chairs. There was enough floor space for us to do couples dancing and line dancing. There's a bar and a separate men's and women's bathroom in the private dining room also. I ordered a hurricane and whiskey sour from the bar--best I've ever had! The buffet menu consisted of red beans and rice, Cajun jambalaya, fried catfish, fried shrimp, cole slaw, french fries, and Caesar salad. Based on the attendants at the reception and their review of each item of food, along with mine, the food was wonderful! After we ate, some of us went out onto the balcony where there were 2 additional tables to enjoy the view. This is the perfect venue for an occasion consisting of 50 people or less.
