This is one of those place that if a local person doesn't tell you about you probably will not find it. I am sure glad that a local person told me about it. Easley in the top 5 boiled crawfish restaurants. The crawfish was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Has the charbroiled oysters and they were the best I have ever eaten. Do yourself a favor and go here, you will not regret it.
We were taken to Janes by my Brother-in-law who we were visiting. He had eaten there before and raved about it. We went for dinner and had to wait for about 30 minutes, but well worth the wait. I ordered the Fried Rice with crawfish. My husband ordered the crawfish and my brother-in-law ordered the fish. All was very good, servings were plentiful and filling. Server was polite, friendly and attentive. She kept us in tea and soda refills. No matter what you order and eat, save room and order the beignet sticks!! They are like the french beignet donuts, only in the shape of fries! Easier to east, less messy and DELICIOUS!!
There is a reason this place is so popular—-bc it is so good. Crawfish were perfect, Charbroiled Oysters damn good down to the chargrilled bread, shrimp and corn bisque makes me want cold weather to return because it was that comforting, and the etouffe is in the top of its class, I’m certain.
We went past Jane's around 5pm, saw the already crowded parking lot, and swung in before we even checked into our hotel. We still had a 20 minute wait, which we spent at the bar nursing our beers. When seated, we ordered the crab claw fingers and fried shrimp dinners to share between us. Both were delicious. We have mixed feelings about the overall atmosphere. It was likely typical Friday night partying in the area. Tables were filled with families, or with birthday and shower parties. Everyone was clearly having a good old time. The bathroom was filled with teenage girls dressed in their party dresses, preening in front of the mirror like it was prom night. They were cute and glowing. However, Jane's is really just a cement floored, large barn-like structure, separated by as many rows of booths and tables as can be placed. If it wasn't decorated by the lively clientele, it would be depressing. The middle-aged waitress was very pushy with the drinks, appetizers, and just... odd. She came over again and again....and didn't seem to understand when we finally said we would share just one more beer between us. We are glad we went to Jane's for the food, but if we ever are in New Iberia again, hope we don't have the same waitress, as she was quite annoying.
If you want delicious Cajun food, and you are around New Iberia, La., This is a must stop place. The drinks will have you dancing like the crawfish when they hit the boiling water. The crawfish were so good the butter came out with the tail. I didn't even need to suck them. The crab claws didn't pinch. They slid right off the cartilage and the dipping sauce added to the flavor. The vibe was laid back and chill too.
fantastic crawfish! had the pounds and some red potatoes as well. a bite of the catfish and ettouffe was fantastic as well....
My experience at Jane's was one of the best places I've eaten in a while me and my family decided to eat at Jane's for a birthday dinner with my niece and if i could have given them a 10 i would have we were 16 people and my is very hard to please especially when it comes to restaurants but Jane's was so awesome that no one could say anything we had one waitress and all the food was hot and correct no one had to ask for drinks but most of all the food itself great but don't take my word for it please see for yourself
Good food but they must go to work and turn the phone off ? I called for hours one day and called again as soon as they opened and its busy. That is not good for business. Answer the phone people and stop taking it off the hook? the phone rang one time and just rang tell we got disconnected too.
Good foodA reason it's so busy. Thanks for awesome service GANNON
Ordered pickup— shrimp and corn bisque and received great pickup service- nice ladies the soup was delicious ? Others had shrimp which was tasty.? YES would return and recommend ? Best soup was at Walk-on but they removed from menu. No bread with Jane’s soup so order ??
