Food: They specialize in handrolls. All of their fish was fresh! We tried a variety of items including their beef tataki, yellowtail crudo, chirashi, grade A uni, and handrolls. All their nigiri comes with an option to 'dress' them with special toppings and flavor. For example, the dressed scallop nigiri had a sea salt butter, fried shallots, and I think something that reminded me of pesto. It was seared together to melt and was an explosion of flavor! The servers and the chefs in the bar were well attentive and friendly. It was nice to strike up a conversation with them while appreciating their hard work. Will definitely return.Reservation System: Easy to make a reservation online. You can choose whether to sit at the bar or a table. Keep in mind that it is not confirmed until you get a text from them.
I’ve been here several times and will continue to go back. You can tell that the owner is there because everything is always on point and perfect. The food is delicious, presentation is excellent, the service is caring and attentive, and the ingredients are of the highest quality. It’s a small restaurant with a very well put together team running the place. Reservations can be hard to get so you have to really plan ahead, but if you’re driving by and you’re hungry it’s easy to drop in and see if there’s seating available. I often get takeout and bring it back to my office.
A creative and unique take on the traditional Japanese maki houses. The fish is super fresh and you can tell they take their time to ensure they get their sushi rice perfect.I’m kind of a traditionalist when it comes to sushi and this place did not disappoint. Similar to the small capacity sushi spots in the train stations in Japan. I will definitely be back to try more of their offerings. That Hokkaido uni…..exquisite.
I decided to do the omakase place with my best friend and man, it was worth the experience. We did the full omakase meal, which served about 19-24 courses, and was about $160-$200 a person. I can't remember exactly what we ordered, but I'll do my best to name them. 1. Tuna crudo: DELICIOUS with the perfect balance of the 3 sauce mixed with the pink peppercorn. 2. Tuna Deluxe: Also delicious, starting from the leanest tuna to the fattiest tuna. 3. White fish's, I believe? My favorite was the amber jack and Hamachi, but the other 2 fish was decent as well. 4. Monkfish served with fish roe: The monkfish to me tasted like a meatier pate, which is a good thing in my books. The first nibble was different, but as I kept on eating it, I couldn't stop; next thing you know, it was all gone! 5. Salmon, scallops, and with other fishes that I forgot the name for, sadly.. BUT it was on point! 6. Ebi (shrimp) with quail eggs, squid with fish eggs, and surf claw clams: Honestly, I felt like this was the weakest plate of all the omakase. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't the best either. The Ebi fried shrimp that came with it was just like eating shrimp chips, which were freaking awesome! 7. A5 WAGYU with Belgua Caviar: Words couldn't describe the taste, and it's a top 5 out of the omakase. 8. Fresh Eel and Grilled Eel: This plate here stole the show and was my most favorite omakase meal! I highly recommend it! 9. Chef choice: Fried Shisho leaves and a lobster roll ( don't remember name): This dish here was a top 5 contender for me as well. 10. Strawberry cream sando: It was creamy but soft and light. The perfect ender for the omakase. Overall, my top 5 omakase items were the: Grilled/fresh eel, scallops, a5 wagyu, fried shisho peppers, and the Lobster roll. I would definitely recommend this place for the omakase for the superb food and service! Ps; our server, Julie, was on point with waiting us! Yakuza House https://yelp.to/I3JJZakjgob
High quality sushi in an intimate environment with excellent service. The price may seem a bit high, but once you notice the quality of the product you will understand why. I will absolutely be back.
Yakazu House is amazing. We sat at a table but I like that you can sit at the bar and watch them prepare the food as well. The food was really delicious and good quality. We got a few hand rolls and I loved some of their unique items like Bay Scallop and Blue Crab. The chicken sando was amazing - great sauce, chicken was nice and crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Our waitress gave us good recommendations and even noted the cooked items for my friend who doesn't like raw dishes. It's a small place so be sure to book in advance.
I just finished my second trip to Yakuza House and can happily report this experience was even better than last time. Here's what you should know: the sushi is made right in front of you. Most of the rolls are prepared as handrolls (seaweed on the outside), but if you're sharing they cut them into four pieces. They have a standard menu and then about 10 specials on a chalkboard. You can choose a traditional roll or 'dressed'. Dressed means the chef will choose the garnish based on their imagination. For example, we had ikura dressed and the dressing was some coarse Japanese sea salt.First, I went last November with a work colleague. She and I sampled a few things and were really impressed by the attention to detail the staff provided. We did not have a reservation, but the greeter squeezed us in with a gentle warning that was a reservation coming behind us. After we finished our meal, my colleague and I were gossiping and greeter reminded us about the next reservation kindly. This could have been a negative experience, but to us, it wasn't. The staff fit us in and we needed to go so they could feed another hungry stomach. I can't remember what we ordered precisely, but I know I had the pork tonkatsu sandwich and I found it to be very filling. This evening, I took my wife. We both enjoy sushi and we've eaten at some of the best sushi places you can find on a fancy sushi restaurant list. Tonight, we sat at the counter and there was a big party in the rest of the restaurant. My wife and I ordered about 7 rolls, 3 piece of nigiri, the large squid salad, and the surprise tempura ice cream. Our server emphasized it was a surprise and wouldn't tell us the flavor. I was delighted when it was one of my favorite flavors from Creole Creamery. If you've read this far, I want to tell you something: there's a secret menu so ask about it.
This is not the place to go if you're looking for crunchy rolls. If you want incredible, inventive, delicious, and beautiful sushi, sashimi, and hand rolls, this is your place. Reservations are recommended, especially if you want to dine omakase.
Small space but pretty chill atmosphere. Definitely recommend making rsvp at the bar to watch the sushi chefs prepare the dishes. Service was amazing from the hostess to the waitress to the sushi chefs! Was an overall great experience and had fun watching the chefs make the food. Everything was great! They are not stingy with their protein at all and provided great information about each dish I ordered. Highly recommend the amberjack nigiri undressed, scallops nigiri dressed, wagyu nigiri undressed, and raw beef tataki. Will definitely come back to try more dishes!
My absolute favorite sushi spot. By my second visit, they knew my name and BOYB! I can’t say more wonderful things about this place.
