This is for the New Orleans location on Nashville. The food was delicious. Sort of. My problem was with the delivery person. I get food delivered all the time. They ALWAYS knock on the door, even if they don't wait for me to answer it. I sit in the front room so I can hear it. This person texted me. Why??? And called. One knock would have been easier.? I didn't see the food until a half hour passed and I went out to see what was going on. THere it was.. Sitting on my front porch. The veg dumplings were not so great bec they probably need to be served hot....There was a cake with whip cream also. so THAT was hot and needed to be cold. In this heat ,sitting outside, not too attractive. REally disappointing. And the third "free" order I was promised never made it into the delivery. I was told I could pick it up,,....but I ordered delivery for a reason. Too bad for a first experience. I had high hopes
They had very limited bakery options on the shelves. I asked for the chocolate crepe cake and when it was placed on the counter for me to pay I asked the clerk to verify that it was just chocolate because the one I was given looked lighter color than the ones I had seen on the shelf but was told it was chocolate. It was not. It was some sort of fruit. The crepes in the 2 crepe cakes I chose tasted like I was chewing paper. The macarons were crunchy. How this place manages to do business so close to the other truly amazing bakeries near it is beyond my understanding.
Very small restaurant that gives a feeling that this is a very temporary location. No wall decor. Order at the counter. I got the dragon shrimp dumplings and the tofu sweet rice to dine in. Those shrimp dumplings were freaking amazing. I ended up getting a slice of the taro cake and the green tea cake to go and they were just lovely.
My favorite place in town for fast casual asian food! I literally go like once a month and have tried a bunch of their soups/dim sum. My favorite soup is the seafood since it's creamy, a little spicy and oh so filling. As for dim sum, I usually get the mini steamed buns; it comes with a vinegar dipping sauce on the side. For desserts, I'll do an egg tart or a tiramisu. This place is not cheap if you compare it to other asian dim spots in larger cities, but I deal with it because there's not a lot of other options for that in nola.
Was so excited to try it out! I love dim sum and there aren’t enough local places with it! And the desserts are also so good and unique! Will definitely be going back!!
Love dim sum!! It was great!! And the bakery had lots of unique items…will definitely be going back!!
Tiny little place in the old Morning Call site. Wonderful king cake, a bit different from the usual... Denser cake with a red bean paste filling that is fantastic. Soft creamy icing that is much less sweet than the usual king cakes that are pervasive in the New Orleans area. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!
HORRIBLE SERVICE. I ordered 3 cakes a day in advance and when I went to go pick it up the next day they only had 2 done. I was missing a cake and I had to wait for my cake to be made. Not sure why have pre-order when they don’t finish the order???
Great place. Staff is awesome, food is delicious. Prices are a bit high for what you get, I always leave hungry.
Great spot for dim sum. Everything is delicious! Best to go with large group & share!
