Visited this place on vacation. Absolutely a must try. Wife had the Shirmp Scampi dish and I tried the original po'boy. Both offerings were phenomenal and as I write this, sadly, I am hungry for something I can no longer have.Guess I'll have to plan another trip soon ;)
The Catch was a great find! Most of my family is gluten-intolerant, but we all wanted authentic N'Awlins fried seafood, and this place came through. I'm the gluten-eater in the family and I tried a bit of everyone else's dishes and it was all amazing -- no difference between the gluten-free and not. The staff are down-to-earth, knowledgeable and friendly.
What a pleasant surprise dining at The Catch was. A husband and wife team do it all. The food each time has been delicious and served fresh and hot. Will definitely keep dining with them.
Great little place with hot, fresh food.
First visit. Had the seafood gumbo to go. Loaded with seafood and the spice/heat level was perfect. Will definitely be back with the family to dine in and taste more. $12 for the Bowl and worth every single penny plus some!
Never had an issue from the Catch. Gluten free fried seafood platter and all I have eaten, was great. Good service as well.
Had no idea this little gem was hidden away in a strip mall on Cleary! It could easily be uptown alongside those sophisticated, trendy, overpriced eateries in the warehouse district and would garner rave reviews. Never has seafood been treated with such delicate preparation. The flavors are unique yet completely regionally on point! I've eaten gumbo in at least 50 places and nothing comes close to The Catch! Generously sprinkled with crabmeat throughout and lots of fresh shrimp. Just suggest a tiny upgrade in decor, but this certainly has no bearing on the deliciousness of the food! TOP NOTCH!
Gluten free fried shrimp. And onion rings. They were sooo good! And, not 'good, for gluten free' - they were just plain good! Very knowledgeable about gluten free cooking. I'll definitely go back on my next NOLA trip!
The owner of this restaurant is a rude and crude and asked me to disable people. I am disabled and have a disability and right now I am dealing with the issue that I do not have all my decals for my vehicle he took the time out of his day to harass me and scream and she was profanity unnecessarily because I was next to his business it wasn’t hurting him the women were parking he said in another parking spot that was his! And that I was causing him issues with the parking spot I was in that wasn’t even for his shop, it was open parking for the plaza but because he felt like I should not have been there I did not look like I was handicap I did not look like I would be able I didn’t deserve to be in that spot he decided to come outside and take photos of my vehicle!!!! I would not patronize this restaurant if it was the last place to eat on earth! You have to treat people better. And it starts with simple kindness to threaten to tow someone’s vehicle if they told you that they were handicap and was happily able to show you their personal handicap drivers license shows you that you’re going out of your way to hurt someone! If you can help it do not eat here do not come here do not deal with this person ever again! I would honestly say I’ve never had the food but if this is a sample of their service I will definitely not sample their food.
We had the Crab and Cheese Dip appetizer. It was soooo delicious! Between myself and my two daughters, we had the Seafood Pasta Nantua, the Blackened Red Fish and the Chicken Pasta Alfredo. It was all absolutely delicious! Of the 3 entrees, we loved the Seafood Pasta the best but it was all so good! Being from out-of-town, we googled restaurants and found this gem. We will definitely be back! The food was delicious and the service was great! Highly recommended!!
