The food is always good, however, the Hibachi chefs seem less interested in putting on a performance and entertaining the guests the way they used to.We couldn't understand the chef at all when he was asking for the temperature of the meat (at least that's what we thought he was asking for), he never smiled, not once, he was not interactive at all and just overall seemed done.I'm sure he's a very hard worker and things are rough these days but there are still people who are looking to for a positive and exciting experience that's why they go to the hibachi rather the other side of the restaurant. I just think he could've had more personality.
Miss Patcie, Miss Miki, Mr Charlie and all the staff from waiters and expoditors have always been accommodating. Service is great and the food is delicious, both the dishes geared towards the Western tastes as well as those appealing to Eastern tastes. There is a swift turnaround of seafood so the fish is always very fresh. Tastes and what's popular has continued to change over the years but Shogun has withstood the test of times. All the while keeping up its quality. The Management cares for its customers and employees which is a sign of and good business, especially in the food industry.
I absolutely love this place. Been coming here since I was a kid. It’s kind of like moms cooking. The lunch specials are still reasonably priced. The tempura lunch was 9.75. It has about 6 pieces of tempura, rice, seaweed salad, soup, two broccoli stalks, and shredded cabbage with ginger dressing. That is a ton of food for 10 bucks. The beef teriyaki comes with same stuff and was also excellent. Beef was cooked perfect. I moved to BR a few years ago and there is nothing that compares to Shogun.
Superb sushi experience every time...
It's always a fun time and a great meal at Shogun's. Paul our server/cook is always very friendly and entertaining. The steak and scallops were cooked perfectly.
Food was great. Prices were a little steep but reasonable for what you get. My main complaint is that they have a sign on door that says no saying no public restroom due to mardi gras parades. While i was waiting to be seated i had asked the person at the waiting area he instructed me that i had to use a porta potty that was on the median of a busy highway which was very dangerous to cross. I can understand they dont want people to just walk in off the parade route to come in and use the restroom but one there was no parade that day and 2 i was a paying patron. I almost walked out and took my business elsewhere.
My first time to Shogun and a man walking out was raving about the sushi. Coming for the hibachi with family, I decided to add one California roll just to see... but it was not up to the man's hype. To put things in context though... they were closing early for the superbowl, and still agreed to seat us for the hibachi show... so I will give them a pass. The hibachi was fantastic, both food and show. Everyone was very satisfied and the portions are extreme! But, I prefer to ask for my to-go boxes rather than have them suggested to me... and I'll give that a pass this time too. 5 stars with the benefit of doubt. Let's see if they keep them next time we go!
This was my family's first time and we were definitely not disappointed. I loved the hibachi grill, the food was so tasty. My son ordered Ramen and he said it was the best that he's ever had.
Favorite Hibachi. Hadn't been in a while, but generous supervisor brought us for a team lunch on his own dime. Very professional staff and always a good experience.
Nice food and nice attention...full recommended ??
