Has been in NOLA for over 15 years, first time trying the dishes here. I am amazed by the dishes, especially paper shrimp. Taste so good, so fresh! Definitely worth the money.
Warning this is not the original Royal China it was for 40 years. Didn’t do owners seem to be deliberately try to destroy the reputation of one of our favorite Chinese restaurants. The quality of the food, the preparation of the food, the taste of the food, the service of everyone in the restaurant.Today we went to have dinner to Friday sign on the door that said close, they decided to start changing the times of when they are open. Today they closed an hour early on a Friday. Two times in the past they would not answer the phone to take an order, and when they eventually did finally answer the phone the order was completely wrong when we went to pick it up. Surely please buy back the restaurant you and your husband create it, these people are going to have to file bankruptcy if they keep making the decisions they have been making
Best Chinese restaurant in the country, easily. Cozy ambiance makes it feel exactly like a perfect favorite place would feel. Terrific food and good prices. New York and Texas restaurants should take lessons.
You know the person who eats a Chinese a dish and decides to recreate at home with leftover ingredients and doesn’t even have the essential Chinese sauces and spices and wings the whole thing without referring to even a basic recipe. Oh, and the person is drunk. That is the abomination that came out of this home kitchen experiment. And at the price, they are robbing you blind with the abysmal portion sizes. Do not get the salt and pepper oysters! 45 minute wait time for carry out. Understaffed and overworked. Hire a new kitchen staff because this not even passable.
Found this restaurant on Google and decided to order from them because of their reviews. I ordered chicken fried rice and some chicken wings. Fried rice was bland with no seasoning. It Tasted like regular white rice with droppings of unseasoned chicken cuts whiles the chicken wings tasted like pure salt yuck. This is the worst Chinese food I have ever had. I Will not be ordering from them again.
Food was good. Fresh, hot, and quick. Pricing is on the higher side. Egg rolls are homemade, and contain cinnamon. That's where it ends. Drinks were in a can. Waitress took our order and literally never came back. Kitchen staff delivered the food. We got our own plates, silverware, and to go boxes. Only 5 tables of customers in the restaurant, but focus was definately on take out orders. She dropped my lemon on the table and never returned with another. *****not wheelchair or stroller friendly. A wheelchair would not fit through the bathroom door and would be very difficult to maneuver through the parking lot to the ramp***
I’ve passed here a 100 times in the last 6 months and never noticed this establishment- what a shame. Made it in tonight after my wife saw an article about the owners selling posted on Facebook. We had the Boneless Fried Chicken, Szechwan Shrimp, and Shrimp Fried Rice after egg rolls for a starter for the 3 of us. What a wonderful meal it was - fresh and hot, served in under 10 minutes and super tasty - best Chinese in MetaIrie so far!! Very friendly staff rounded the night out!
I took my best friend here so she could try dim sum for the first time, as there’s not a lot of dim sum places around here compared to my hometown. It’s a very lowkey, traditional old school Chinese place, with really amazing dim sum. The portions here for regular plates like fried rice—from what I’ve seen at other tables—are massive. We got a variety of dumplings and well as the short ribs, and everything was really fantastic. The employees were very attentive and overall we left very full and satisfied! Would definitely recommend for the best dim sum in the greater New Orleans area.
Had dinner there on November 6. Shrimp with Bok-choy, Sesame Chicken and SubGum Sizzling were excellent and plentiful. Egg rolls were good. Cold bottle beer served with a frozen glass. Wife said Mai Tai was good. Even though I give a 5 star, we got the Beef Ribs, I would not recommend. Good, friendly service. Clean establishment and clean rest rooms.
