Pork Bánh Mì was really good and so was the phở, as I have had it many times in the past. Spicy Beef soup is good, but I will always substitute the noodles for the phở noodles, anywhere I go, and they gladly will do it here. There is a taste difference, and that’s just my preference. Do ask for the side of Sa Tế, to amp up the spice and kick (theirs may have lemongrass mixed in it, which is the kicker I look for in my Sa Tế). The crew was really nice here and so were the owners. Highly recommend it!
Tonight was our first night trying Pho Michael and we will definitely be back! Pictured is the Spicy Beef Pho which was absolutely delicious! The hints of lemongrass were perfect! We also got a grilled pork banh mi which was one on the best I have ever had! My husband got the brisket pho and he really enjoyed it! Make sure to try the Arnold Palmer too! It is made with jasmine tea!
I only got spring rolls, but it was two rolls for $8. Most places offer four for $6. I just got rolls because the waiter was kind of rude and acted like I was wasting his time because I said I needed extra time. He had an attitude of wanting to get me in and out as quickly as possible. There was no one else in the restaurant either! By the time I left, one person came for take out and a family of three sat down right as I was leaving. Google said this is “as busy as it gets.” Stick to take out with this place if you don’t mind paying the prices. They seem like they don’t want people to dine in.
Pho Michael is a reasonably priced Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Fat City in Metairie. The food is tasty and the atmosphere is casual.
This place is so good it’s not even funny. I’m a vegetarian and I hate tofu and this is one of the few places I could find vegetarian pho that didn’t have tofu in it. And the broth for the pho is SO GOOD. I just love every bit.
I have been to Pho Michael numerous times over the years and used to always enjoy my experience. The flavoring of the pho is like no other restaurant in the area. Unfortunately overtime the prices have rose but the quality has plummeted. I typically get the crab ragoons as my appetizer for $8.00. Unfortunately there is the bare minimum amount given. I would recommend Pho Orchid which is in the same area for crab ragoons because they give you ample stuffing compared to Pho Michael for $7.95. For my entree I get the chicken pho which has amazing flavor but over time the chicken has become smaller and thinner with the price increase. I would recommend adjusting hours of operation on Google. Due to staffing shortages Pho Michael states on their door they are open until 8:30 PM and closed on Mondays instead of what is advertised online. Pho Michael is experiencing a staffing shortage but the customer service was wonderful.
I was very disappointed. I ordered P4 (pho with filet mignon and brisket) and the portions of actual beef is a joke. Probably 2-3 small slices. The service is terrible. Server did not offer water, and basically handed the check before we even finished dining. Would not recommend anybody to come.
Worse experience at a Pho restaurant in the New Orleans metro area. I have Great Pho all over Nola.. this was my first time at this place and was my last. I will never go there again. I ordered a large bowl of Pho with brisket and their spicy beef broth. When it came my large bowl which cost me $3 extra was barely 3/4 full. As I dug through it looking for the brisket I found that they maybe had 5 or 6 very lean, tough, and small pieces in the entire bowl. The spicy beef broth was ok. I didn't eat that much of my Pho I was put off by the fact that I had spent so much for barely any meat. I asked the server for the rest of it to go. She said ok and went on to do a few things. When I ask for the check a few minutes later I again asked her for the rest of my pho to go.. she said ok again and took my bowl away. When she can back with my bill I paid it and she returned with my change but no Pho to go. When I asked her when my to go was?? She told me she threw it away!! What?? I ask for it to go 2x! So after a couple of minutes of talking to someone else... they asked me to wait another 5 minutes or so and they would replace my large bowl with a regular size to go Pho. Sadly the replacement also barely had 5 or 6 small very lean tough pieces of brisket. This place is over priced, stingy, and not that good.. there are plenty of great Pho places in Nola.. go to anyone of them, don't waste your time here. I will say the server was nice and very apologetic.
Paid 8.00 for 2 spring rolls, 8.00 for 2 small bun soft tacos, 15.00 for a shrimp pho and 15.00 for a combination pho. My combination pho had maybe 2 small slivers of beef, 1 meatball cut in 4 pieces, and a small 1z1 inch slice of tendon. The shrimp pho wasn't much better. Both came with a 1/2 full container of the broth. These are what's considered small pho at other restaurants. I also wrote a note to include extra hoisin sauce which they forgot about. For a 60.00 order with tax and delivery I expected much different.
Staff was friendly, but for the portions that you get, overpriced. There are plenty of other places to get pho from.
