In honor of my dad's birthday, I chose Parrans. My dad used to love oyster poboys. The bread was extremely soft no crunch to the top of the bread which is what we desire in a poboy. The portion was decent, not overstuffed in true New Orleans fashion. The oysters were piping hot and super fresh but had absolutely no flavor. Salt and pepper would have been suffice.I ordered a small onion ring. They were seasoned well but dripping in grease. They were not drained well. The food was ready in 15 minutes. I received a text when the order was ready, nice touch. I'd order again if I knew there would be seasoned oysters. $28
Usually I love and obsess over po boys onion rings and everything in between! However the sandwich that I got today was so gross and so cold! It’s supposed to be the J&M po boy and it’s almost $15! This was a complete rip off! Dry and barely any roast beef! ?
Wonderful fried seafood items. We had the shrimp poboy and seafood muffuletta. Both were delicious, with perfectly fried seafood. The seafood was hot out of the fryer, too hot to eat. Unfortunately, they had no oysters, so I missed that on the muffuletta. They have a pretty large menu with a good variety of items, not just seafood. Pizza and typical daily lunch specials. It's not fancy inside, perhaps a dozen tables or so. Order at the counter then take your number to a table. Your order will come out quickly.
Very disappointed. Staff was very robotic & not friendly at all. No expressions & not welcoming at all as it use to be. One guy, the older one, at the register picked his nose right in front of us after we ordered. Thank God he did not handle the food! For the price we paid, the plates were skimpy. Large order of onion rings were more like a small order because they were thin shoestring kind and very greasy. The club sandwich did have a good amount of meat, but way too much for the ridiculously thin , small, dry sliced bread. Not even toasted! I could tell it was the cheapest bread you could find. Maybe some Texas toast to make it would be better. Get creative! Had to eat a sandwich without bread, lettuce or tomato because it was that small to hold it together. $13 for just meat. The pattie sausage poboy was pretty small too. Parrans you can do better. You are cutting costs way too much & it shows. Definitely not like it use to be.
Omg the worst roast beef poboy ever.? The roast beef was not fully cooked. The wrapper had the worst smell every. The smell was just unbearable. After taking a couple of bites i just had to throw the whole sandwich away.. i was very disappointed.. 3939 Veterans Blvd, Trash!!
I herd that this was a nice shop, but when I ordered a sandwich the server had an attitude, and I waited 40 minutes until I asked how much longer? Mad confusion erupted, and no one could see that I’ve been standing there that entire time waiting for my order. Then be told it will only take 2 minutes to make my sandwich. What a slap in the face. I wasted to much time and the service was trash this visit.Maybe another time,
Crawfish and shrimp pasta, made with angel hair pasta and cream sauce, from scratch was piping hot. Just what I needed to get my fix. One of my go tos when I go home.
For the price you would think they would devein the shrimp and give lettuce that was not old.
Great joint! Excellent bread on the Poboys, great blackened shrimp perfectly cooked. Fantastic muffalettas served hot. Get 1/2, eat 1/4 hot, chill the second 1/4 for the next day. Best of all worlds!? And ask about the special sauce for the fries
Confused...we order and pay at the entrance, give a 20% tip, the food is good yet we had to refill our own drinks and hunt someone down for condiments, that to me is unacceptable. No need to dine in or give a tip if all you receive is someone bringing your food to the table and picking up the plates when you are down. With the price that was paid today, sorry it's not worth it!
