I will give this place a zero me n my husband go there all the time we always leave 15 to 20 dollar tips all the time way more then we should. There watriess yelled at me about were here tip was I told her it's up in the front we paid the tip when he rang us up she said I was lying and she is going to go ask so I followed her and I told the owner of the mandarin that is very rude what she is doing they need to tell there employees that there tip is up front this was so embarrassing I will never go back
For the price, expected way more. Especially since you pay as soon as you walk in. You get A bottled drink, paper plates, and plastic utensils. All the food was cold and stale. Egg drop soup was probably the only good, fresh thing out. Literally so disappointing of a restaurant. To add on, they have fish tanks up by the front that they don’t even clean or take care of the animals. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
THE WORST SERVICE IN THE WORLD! We went to eat 10 people and they demanded that we tip when we were leaving, tips are given when the service is excellent, and when you go to a buffet like this one, you serve yourself, however we leave tips when we arrived when we paid at the beginning, and the waitresses did not believe us, we had to go as far as we paid to look for the receipt and show it to the lady, they were embarrassed and we had a very bad time! Don't go!
Overpriced not good. Lots of food looked and tasted left over from lunch. This place was pretty good 10-15 years ago. Not anymore. Second time here recently. Had to 2nd time for a family member. I will not be back. Another table even complained about the chicken and they did nothing. Wings tasted funk and hard. 18.99 per person would better spent somewhere else. Second star was only given because ice cream machine worked.
Unfortunately this was very underwhelming for the cost!! It was very pricey with a small selection, seafood was unseasoned, paper plates and utensils, and you had to pay separately for a bottled drink!! We had to ask for cups of ice!! There are definitely better buffets in Metairie! Trust me and go somewhere else! The table attendant who threw away our plates periodically had the nerve to ask me for a tip! I didn’t feel like a tip was deserved when we served ourselves EVERYTHING! Including our own drinks. The audacity to ask for a tip when they aren’t even washing dishes.
The seafood was good. Out of all the Chinese buffets i went to this had to be the worse one ever. They don’t greet you it’s “how many people”. Most of the food was cold and most of it was super hot. We wasn’t even finish yet , and the waiter came and gave us our cookies. She told us have a nice day like she was rushing us. I will not go back if your looking for a good Chinese restaurant. Go to THE GRAND IN KENNER!!!!!!!
This place have completely changed.. my family and I went there to eat yesterday and most of them are sick today with diarrhea and vomiting. A family member told me that they spotted a mice running in the area where they have it blocked off for customers. I’m not sure what’s going on over there but we definitely won’t be returning, I won’t be surprised if they shut down this place
We visited on a Saturday around noon.This was not my favorite Chinese buffet. For the amount we paid, I definitely had higher expectations. The selection was great, from salads to sushi to mac and cheese. Lots of seafood that was overcooked to the point the crayfish literally stuck to the shell and was nearly impossible to get out.The steamer trays weren't on, so everything that was supposed to be hot was cold and inedible. For the price, I expected more than cheap Styrofoam plates, plastic utensils and an overpriced tea bag in a Styrofoam cup. I'm honestly trying to think of the last time I had to pay for hot tea in a Chinese restaurant.Save your money and time and head over to ANY PLACE ELSE. We will not be visiting again.
Good place to eat, what I don't like is the price of the lunch, I think they are charging 20 dollars, and they lack a little more variety of food, that's why I give it 4 stars.
Its been a long time since I've been here....The food was amazing. Sushi was really good. Everything was fresh!!!! Yes it might be a little expensive but I find it's worth it. You can't get great such all you can eat for the price...LOVE the salad bar...I'm from the Westbank. Brought my sister this wk. She thought the food was really good. My husband said it's his new favorite Chinese restaurant on the Eastbank besides Ruth's Chris....
