I recently moved to Metairie and have been trying out a few sushi places to see what my new spot should be. Kanno is definitely the winner. Excellent sushi at a very fair price. Hours and parking are a little weird, but definitely worth it. Also, they like you to make a reservation.
The owner one day sent out some of the house recommendations and we tried the tiki roll and the ryan roll.... These are the best rolls to try ALOT OF FLAVOR!100% on consistency100% on customer service100% on variety to choose from
Fantastic experience. We recently moved to the area and have been starved for quality sushi. Everything was super fresh and prepared with great care and skill. We had the Chef Choice Special. It begins with just 3 dishes, but you can keep ordering up these scrumptious surprises for a full meal. We’ll do that next time.
I'm from out of town so maybe this is why I'm scoring so low. Ginger salad was only spinach leaves and I'm not too for sure if that was really even ginger dressing. We ordered 5 different rolls. Only 1 was enjoyable, so we tried to order the chicken teriyaki dinner only for it to not be teriyaki sauce. it tasted like ketchup on chicken served with a small bowl of white rice. All the reviews made it seem like a great place but I was greatly disappointed. Even when calling to make a reservation (which you need to do even though no one else was in the building beside workers) it must be a "timed" reservation. So pretty much tell them how long it's going to take you to order, eat, pay and get the hell out. I'm sorry but this was not worth it.
Make a reservation!!We were lucky be ause we didn't and there was one table open. We watched a few people get turned away.The food was fresh, very fast and there are some great specials.The House smoked Salmon was unbelievable. Perfectly smoked with pickled onions and jalapeno slices on top.I had the Sunflower roll. It was different from the traditional rolls that are made with rice...plenty of fresh fish and topped with onions. The sauce is slightly citrus, but refreshing and Salty as well.The service is very good, staff are constantly moving through the tables and attending to the patrons.Highly recommend eating here.
Great experience! The sushi is of high quality. Specials are very tasty! The service is top notch and there is a great atmosphere. Will definitely go back to try new specials!
