Awesome place For takeout eat in And also catering the best place in the whole wide world for tamales
Landed in St. Bernard parish state park with our new RV. Wanted an authentic local grocery and found this funky little deli -dark green building east side of New Orleans spitting distance to the Mississippi. Went in and bought some of Bradley’s homemade Hog Head meat loaf. He promised no eyeballs just pulled pork, veggies and spicy spices. Gave us a slice to taste. Oh Yum. Maybe not for everyone but we loved the real feel of this little place and the owners special concoction.
Local gem. I’ve loved everything I’ve had from here. Best poboys I’ve ever had. The Hot’s Delight will hurt you. Twice. But it’s worth the price.Overflowing shrimp poboys. The Cajun wedges are a must, every time.I’ve been eating there since it was a grocery store in the 90’s and I’ve loved many meals from these friendly folks.If you’re lucky enough to get in there, try anything.If you don’t like it, you’re wrong.
I went for sandwiches with my 2 kids. No kids menu. Prices are higher than average for the food being served. They charged over the menu price to serve the sandwiches with lettuce.The burger was as good as any cheap burger joint with cheap cheese. The turkey poboy was fine, just simple for 7.50. The 7" shrimp poboy was average for the Nola area, and overpriced.All in all, it was slow "fast food" that I overpaid for by about 30%.
Got Krispy Krunchy Chicken to go from Guillory's Deli in Metairie on January 29, 2022 at lunchtime. Fantastic chicken! Cooked perfectly! Properly krispy and krunchy and also very juicy and delicious! Wow!
Today's batch of tamales are a 10 on a 5 star scale. They're amazing!
I am very happy I decided to order from Guillorys Deli ! The food was awesome. The fried chicken.. omg!! It was so good and juicy. At least I know from now on when I want good fried chicken, I’m going to Guillorys. Support local and it paid off!!
Po boys too small for price. But fried pork chop plate is delicious and worth the price.
This place does not know how to serve mediocre food. Everything here is OUTSTANDING. The sandwiches, plate lunches, all delicious and plenty of food - and priced right.I always come here for the tamales. The tamales are just like the ones you get from the little stands, only without the salmonella. Guillory’s has the BEST tamales, hands down. I always get some to eat there and a dozen to go. The fried chicken is good too.Excellent food, low prices, and friendly service. I’ll be back again and again. I’d give them TEN stars if I could.Edit: Came here 12/27/21 for the Chicken Fried Steak plate lunch. Outstanding. Pic below.
