Drago's is a really nice seafood restaurant in Metarie, a close suburb of New Orleans. That it was popular could be seen from the fact there was no parking available in the parking lot next to the restaurant. I had to park a couple of blocks away.We had a plate of a dozen charbroiled oysters to start. It is cooked in a rich sauce and should work even for folks who don't like the taste of raw oysters. I think this is something the restaurant is known for and well worth having. This was followed with Golden Fried Catch of the Day (It was a white flaky fish although forgot the precise type) and we finished with the I-Scream Fireball. I'm including pictures of the menu which have more detailed descriptions.Overall the place was a decent size, open restaurant. Our waiter was a college student who was clearly still in training since he was being shadowed by a more experienced waiter. However he did a great job.
Happy to have experienced the charbroiled oysters here. Absolutely delish. We also enjoyed the gumbo, shrimp salad and shrimp poboy. What a treat.
Kendric Graves makes the best oysters in N.O! Fresh and tasty! His service is impeccable. The hurricane drink was also amazing
OMG! EVERYTHING was delicious! The All Surf No Turf is a MUST order! The crawfish mac and cheese was to die for. The gator bites were amazing. The service was impeccable !!!!! I had the PERFECT birthday dinner thanks to Drago's. This place was so awesome; we went back the next night for dinner foregoing other area restaurants.
I first experienced Drago's last August at the New Orleans' Hilton in August 2021. I was there 2 nights. I ate there both nights. I loved the Seafood Patsa. This year, i took my family to the Metairie location. I ordered the dip, my wife the pasta and my daughters chicken pasta. My daughter's friend had a chicken meal. All enjoyed their food. My wife's only complaint was thst she didn't order another plate to go. Worth the visut.
We are in our 60's and travel a lot. Have been to NOLA several times and visit Drago's. Service is prompt & courteous. Food including tuna, charbroiled oysters & entree all prepared well. Only issue is parking is tight. Yes, we would go here again!
Stopped before getting on the causeway after late appointment at East Jeff Medical center. We were a little early 5:00 pm ish, so no waiting for a table even though most tables were occupied. Fo my wife &I we had: - I started with a dozen raw oysters ? (picture after I ate 10 is attached), they were big beautiful and delicious; - my wife had the Mediterranean catch of the day (drum we think- picture attached) that she liked; - i also had a dozen Char-broiled oysters ? that were fantastic (another picture attached before I ate them all); - lastly I had a bowl of seafood gumbo with extra french bread, also delicious.(picture attached). Rachel D & Lisa did a nice job helping us.
