Amazing food, great, friendly service. Loved the mumbo gumbo so much, we ordered several (okay, more than several) containers to bring back home to Nebraska and share with friends and family. Chef Ron is amazing, you can tell he loves what he does., It comes through in his food. The newly expanded space is colorful and beautiful. Check out the outdoor covered patio with murals by a local artist.
Every bowl of gumbo will be lacking from now on. Simply superb. Crab cakes crispy. Bread pudding exceptional. Good gumbo anywhere else will be mediocre. Ron's is worth the drive from anywhere.
We were having trouble finding a place for lunch since we are not from the area and we were hoping to find a “hole in the wall” restaurant. We decided to give this place a shot and it was well aimed because we left full and satisfied. Great and friendly service! We were checked on often and we were made to feel welcome. The food was so beautifully and deliciously presented! I had to take pictures before tearing into the food. I love artfully crafted food. I recommend the outdoor seating area. It was super comfortable and it allowed for a little more privacy than your average dining area (my son is on the spectrum so this was a godsend). My sister and I ordered the seafood gumbo with the shrimp poorboy. My kids had the children’s menu (the options are few but the plates were loaded). We had the pecan pie and the bread pudding for dessert (my mom’s favorite part of the meal). It was a very successful meal and I would certainly recommend.
Wife and I visiting from out of town and on a recommendation went for lunch here on Friday around 12:15pm and had a pleasant lunch with good food. We ordered the classic gumbo and the mega gumbo along with the fried boudin balls. Boudin balls are addictive good and the gumbo's were excellent and hearty. Other tables ordered the quesadilla appetizer so sounds like they are a thing to get. Service was fine though they seemed a bit flustered as only 3 folks were working the floor and bar and the place was full with a short wait line. Melva served us and all was fine. Wall decor is cool with dollar bills covered with black marker art on all walls was fun. Def recommend and will come back.
The food here is amazing and authentic. Shawn has waited on us the last couple times and his service is exceptional!Chicken Gumbo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Crab Cakes ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Crawfish Etouffee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Chicken Alfredo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Shrimp⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Portion control!! Wow. Huge portions. The spaghetti and chicken tenders are kids meals. The shrimp poboy was fresh and delicious. Gumbo was a little spicy hot for my wife but she enjoyed it for sure. Super friendly. Melba is very attentive and accommodating. Great little spot. This is where I need a 4.5 rating.
Seated at 6:22pm and two other tables recieved their food first though we ordered before they were ever seated. We ordered only three dishes, spaghetti, shrimp creole, and a catfish platter. At 7:35 pm we still didn't have our dinner, so we started to walk out. The waitress hurried to bring us our food, but had a catfish poor boy sandwich in her hand. I should have known since she had put a lemon slice in my Coke. They asked if we wanted it to go. They didn't even get my order right. Why would I want a wrong order to go? The waitress told my 8 and 4 year old daughters they could have chocolate milk. The waitress was wrong.
Food was good. Service was a bit slow. It may be because of staffing shortages. Never came by to check on our drinks, messed up the order. Still, I'd check it out.
Delicious food! Gumbo and Jambalaya were just amazing. Very friendly service. Probably the best Jambalaya I have ever had. Reminds me a southern version of Jollof rice lol
Very friendly staff. I got the Mumbo Gumbo which tasted good but had a slightly gummy texture (maybe from the okra?). Still enjoyed it but wish it hadn't been gummy. Got the bread pudding which was excellent! Some of the best I've had in a long time.
