The only thing decent was the appetizer- oyster’s on bread. My husband ordered an old fashioned and he took one sip and had to send it back he never does that. I got crab cakes and they were awful and smelled like fish husband got the redfish special and it was also very fishy and not good at all. The only other table in the restaurant was complaining about their meal too. Will not be back.

This is my first time coming to this restaurant. The food was spectacular. I always get crab cakes, when available, at any restaurant that has them and that's how I judge the restaurant overall. The crab cakes were delicious, more crab than cake! I also had the softshell crab covered with crab meat and it was delicious, also. The wait staff also helped me what they surprised happy birthday dessert at the end. We had the Brownie and it was over the top scrumptious. And let's not forget what made our meal the best was our fantastic server named Billy. He had a fantastic off the Wall charm that really helped make our evening quite lovely.

More like Rip off on the lake, went with a wedding party of 20 guest everyone left disappointed and dissatisfied, ordered a salad a non cooked item and it took an hour and 45 minutes plus me running the waiter down and walking into the kitchen to get the food brought out to our tables.Waiter forgot my wife’s appetizer order until everyone had eaten and finished theirs and he picked it up, he of course blamed it on the kitchen even though she ordered the same app as other people in our group.Ended up having to pay for food we didn’t get, nor did we eat just to get away from the place would not recommend at all

First time there, and we enjoyed it. Good salads and crawfish Monica. Fried crab claws needed a little seasoning. Excellent outdoor dining atmosphere with a great view of the lake. Service was a bit slow, but the place was packed and we weren't in a hurry, anyway.

My wife and I dined here at lunch on a windy day but still sat outside to enjoy the view. We started with the crab stuffed mushrooms which were good, not sure if $18 good. My wife had the brie/crab soup which was real good. For the entre I had the redfish covered with crawfish etouffee, which was good and fairly priced. The service was a bit hit and miss and we learned our waitress was in training. All in all a good lunch and we will return if ever back in the area.

If you are looking for gorgeous sunset views with fine dining and a great atmosphere, this is the place to checkout. I had no reservation, but the manager took care of me anyway. The sunset views were stunning far while I ate my meal out on the front porch deck with two long stairs cases going down on both sides. You could tell you were close to hurricane weather because all the buildings are up on stilts here right next to the water front.I had a good talk with the manager who retired from the hotel industry, and this is his retirement plan that married the owner late in life. They both love the place you can tell by the decor and atmosphere.I did find out that hurricane Katrina took the original building down, but they rebuilt it back. The restaurant has been in business for over 100 years.I had the grouper fish with shrimp for the main course. The sauce was made from scratch and was very creamy. I loved it! The green beans were seasoned different than I have ever had but very good.I also had the potato salad now that was a delicious treat with some Coleslaw in it.I topped the meal off with the cream Brulee that was browned to perfection with a strawberry and whip cream on top.Do I recommend this restaurant? Absolutely! Why? I recommend this restaurant not just for the amazing sunset views, great food, or staff, but the location and story of the restaurant. So, what are you waiting for ? Don't take my word for it go experience it for yourself today.

We had been to Rips several years ago and wanted to go back while we were in Mandeville for the duck show. We ordered off their specials menu that the waitress read to us without asking the price --big mistake. I ordered the salmon which was not bad, but I have salmon at restaurants often for $25-30, not $50. My wife order a fillet mignon with shrimp, she said the Old Bay seasoning was a bit too much and so was the price at $60.

This was our first time to this outstanding restaurant. Definitely is hands down one of our favorites now! This is such an amazing restaurant, you just have to give it a try…and you’ll be hooked! We couldn’t have been more impressed by all of the delicious food and warm welcome we received, we literally felt like family. I had the trout Audrey, which was prepared perfectly, which came with potatoes and the best green beans that I’ve ever eaten in my life. My husband had the BBQ Shrimp (which was absolutely phenomenal)and a cup of their crab and shrimp bisque, best bisque ever! Our kids loved their meals as well. We had the privilege of meeting the wonderful owners. They are such a lovely couple! We just adored them and our server, Billy, was outstanding as well. You just have to check this place out, you won’t regret it!!!

The food is amazing! Beautiful Restaurant with great views of the lake. Wonderful atmosphere & excellent servers.

My first visit to this restaurant. The food was absolutely incredible!! Scrumptious, delicious, delectable!! Unfortunately, our waiter tainted our experience. He admitted to being scatter-brained, and it was quite evident by the inordinately long time for him to take our order, bring out the appetizer, serve our food, and take our credit cards. Other customers came in quite a while after us and got their food before we did (different wait staff). We even opened the door for him twice so he could get inside to unload his handful of dishes. The female staff were absolutely efficient, but we missed out on any of them.
