We have visited NOLA several times, but always stop by here at least once. The coffee and beignets are as good as ever, but it is a little disappointing there is still no table service - it is all take away, though you can sit at the tables. Anyway, it is a wonderful NOLA institution that is not to be missed.
Great beignets, from the New Orleans standard. Service was good and friendly... they even let you watch the process.
As a person with anxiety, the original Cafe in New Orleans is too much. This location in Mandeville is just perfect. Easy to order and get your items. Lots of space to sit and eat. Staff keeps the place very clean, which is a huge feat with all that powdered sugar.

Beignets sold 3 to an order for $3.75 with tax; Cash only. As we enjoyed our beignet, we were treated to some excellent jazz music—a common treat here.
Drive thru service? Slow but very friendly. Beignets? Delicious and messy as always. My Iced Cafe Au Lait? Tasted like they forgot to clean out the dispenser beforehand so my drink had a strong cleaner aftertaste.

Pretty good. Tge taste is very comparable to the one from downtown New Orleans, which is not surprising per say. The place is clean and they take cards. It's not cash only.
My nesting partner has always told me I needed to visit Cafe Du Monde. Since we are down visiting family we all went. Omg these beignets are absolutely delicious. They're airy doughnuts covered in powdered sugar. Also got an iced mocha au lait which has a bitter and sweet taste - doesn't make me think of chocolate tho (referencing mocha) however it's delicious and I do like my coffee to have a bitter taste. They had catalogs on each table and there's a wall of cups, coffee, beignet mix, and gift baskets with combos that are cute and fun to have. They even have giant coffee mugs. We got a can of chicory coffee as our car is already pretty full of stuff to take home.
