Best seafood in Lake Charles. Fair price and friendly folks. No frills ambiance but who cares with food like this. We were going to Pat’s of Henderson that is our favorite place but it was temporarily closed for some reason. Glad we stumbled into Steamboat Bill’s.
I hate the boudin balls. I have eaten here for the past 16 years. I love to the shrimp pistillate for a appetizer. Then my husband and I share the seafood platter.
We saw the reviews but did a double take when we pulled into an empty parking lot. We were there shortly after it opened. We decided to go in anyway and we were so glad we did! It is not fancy, but very clean. The staff could not have been any nicer and the fried food was on point! SO fresh, lightly breaded and fried to perfection. Portions are substantial. We rarely do fried foods, but this was SO worth the splurge.
If you like spice you’ll love the crawfish boil here! They also have great shrimp and sausage. For vegetarians they have salads and biscuits. The cheesecake was lovely also! Fun environment, busy but efficiently speedy!
The service was great. Everyone from the host to waitstaff was helpful and friendly. The food was was yummy. They only problem was one dish was a little salty but with the sauce and rice it was still very tasty.
I always love coming here when I go to Lake Charles. The service is always great and the food is even better. My family and I had a awesome time. We had the crawfish, fried alligator, fish and shrimp.
