I use to come here a whole lot. Sometimes 2 to 3 times a week. I even completed, and advertised for them for their fried shrimp and club sandwich. Did new owners take over? New cooks? Different recipes? I live in Jennings now and decided I wanted Leonards!!! I tried there 2 for 20 meals today. We got a shrimp basket of 4. They were about average in size not even the large ones I’m use to here, the batter was totally different. I normally am In heaven. I’ve been wanting Spaghetti and meatballs, I have never had a bad meal ever in the past 16 years going to Leonards. That Spaghetti was the worst I have ever eaten. It was like salt. I had to add ketchup to it to make it palatable. I had the club sandwich as well with my party. We were not happy. I’m sorry to ever write a bad review, but I tell people to come here and base it upon the quality I’m use to. Please, fix it! I can’t understand 32.00 dollars for low quality.
Really good cooking. Locals frequent this spot for classic Creole food. The red beans and rice was so satisfying. Chicken and sausage gumbo did not disappoint
The food is always great anytime I go there, I never have to wait too long to get my food, and the staff is very friendly and a joy to talk with. I highly recommend trying their food. You won't be disappointed.
Visiting from out of town and so glad we stopped here. Looked like many other people know about the good, home style food because the place was packed and it was nearly 1 pm. Ordered the Daily Special which happened to be baked chicken with dirty rice, beans and a sweet cornbread. Got a sweet potato pie and lemon cake to eat later. Seriously one of the best places for real Southern cooking. Maybe go back for dinner! And the staff were all friendly, helpful, kind and professional. Thank you from the great Pacific Northwest.
Leonard's is great, if you like good ole' home style cooked food then you have to try them out. Everything on the menu is superb! If you are from the Lake Charles area and you know, then you know! =) If you are visiting from elsewhere and are looking for some really good food then you have really gotta check them out, take my advice.
That gumbo and crawfish etouffe were ?. Same goes for the rice and potato salad.
Very casual dining. Could use some updating but it was clean. The prices were reasonable, the food was delicious, and served hot with generous portions. I would eat here again.
Best potato salad I've ever eaten. Fried fish an fries, excellent. Crawfish etoufee was also tasty. Basic, charming, friendly staff. All good.
Excellent as always!!! Glad to see dine in is open, was not last year on our trip through. We always eat here on our way through!!
My husband had the pork and red beans/rice and I had a chicken salad. Potato salad was one of the best we’ve had. Wish we had a Leonard’s in Lafayette!
