Great place for a great time. And playing trivia is so much fun!
Very nice setting. Large open Ballroom floor setting, for live music, that has an upstairs view which allows for sitting in comfortable social circuit. The entertainment typically lean towards rock, soul, jazzy good vibe bands. Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentleman, Mark Broussard... The lower bar is classy, open and inviting. The Grouse Room has minimal view obstructions and a good view of the stage from any position. Also, there are Irish Snug table settings which aren't often seen these days.
Great live music and cocktails. The upstairs area had comfy lounge seating to enjoy the music from a little bit of a distance.
Great location. Great size and atmosphere for smaller concerts/shows. Bathrooms were very clean and the bartenders were fast with making drinks.
My husband and I were amped up for our first visit to The Grouse Room last night to hear some great live music and enjoy some good food. I booked admission and reserved a table online. The lady working the door was very nice and pleasant, and the room was very inviting. The bartenders were ok, but certainly not overly friendly for some reason. We looked at the menu prior to arriving and decided we'd better split a burger because they looked huge and filling in the photos posted. What we were served was tiny, had none of the toppings listed, and looked absolutely nothing like the picture, nor did the fries. We decided to buck it up and tried the chicken tenders as well, which were bland and served with no dipping sauce at all. I guess most people don't go to a bar to eat, but the food looked so good online that we planned to indulge. Additionally, for some reason the door was propped open and we were freezing. After about 90 minutes we left because we couldn't take the cold any longer. Nice atmosphere and decor, but a pretty disappointing experience overall.
This place has a great vibe and is such a welcome addition downtown. The variety of acts here means there always something to catch any given week. Sound is excellent here and great drinks. All in all this place rocks.
My 1st time there. I loved it. The bartenders were amazing. The live music with L.A. ROXX was fabulous. I will definitely go back and I live in Texas...6 hours away.
