Best home style cooking around
If you want a real taste of southern food this is the place I would take you to. Stuffed turkey wing plate lunch or the meatball stew. That's a real taste of a true Cajun lunch. Love the ladies that take care of me when I go for lunch. They always treat me like family and hook me up every now and then with a dessert on the side just to show me love. And don't forget to leave them a good tip in return to show them some love too
This is a very unique and special place run by an extremely unique and special lady. Yes, you will have a few extra calories, but it will be worth it. Cajun home cooking at it's finest with no pretense. We have had the privilege of world travel and rank the food and hospitality at Laura's 11 as being as special and satisfying as any we have experienced. Yes, it is served in styrofoam with plastic utensils but that in NO way detracts from the quality of the food, the friendliness of the staff and the absolute joy of the experience.
Ate there for first time. EXCELLENT will be going back tomorrow to try something different.
Plate lunch style restaurant. Menu changes daily so definitely get there before it's gone.I had the Fried Pork Chop, rice and gravy, with beans and yams.
If I could give them ten stars, I would, seriously! I am from Lafayette, La, but I now live out of state. Every time I am in Lafayette, I stop here! The food is the best in town, and the staff makes you feel like you're home. They know you by name! This restaurant is a staple in the Lafayette community and has been around since I was a young boy!
I was expecting more food to see and choose from. Unfortunately, they take your order ,you have a seat, then your name is called. You can not see all the food they serve in front of you like they advised. The food we ordered tasted good by the way, it was the Turkey wing.
I tried to get there before the lunch rush, but I think I might have been too late to receive needed instruction. I asked for a stuffed Turkey Leg and glass of water. She told me it was a wing and to pick 2 sides. I went with red beans and smothered cabbage. I gave her my name and took a seat. I never did get the glass of water. It was starting to get busy when my food came out. So I didn't bother them about it, as I had a warm bottle of water with me.When I went to pay, she asked if I had a drink. I told her that I didn't get one, and then I noticed a cooler of beverages by the cash register. So I suppose that I made a tourist mistake and could have asked more questions.I personally thought that the Turkey Wing had plenty of heat / spicy-ness, yet was kinda dull in the Turkey meat flavor. I did like the smothered cabbage, though.
Such great people here! Food is always delicious!!! Line gets long, but moves very fast! Best stuffed wings in the world!Check @eatinglafayette on Instagram and Facebook for more Lafayette food things!
