Servers are very nice. Their beans are cooked with bacon fat so, no many options for vegetarians, or vegans. The pupusas were tasteful and relished with marinated love. Not sure if the rice was cooked with chicken stock, however, having a friendly staff can be a plus with special requests. Meat eaters will love the typical Salvadoran breakfast. Lovely place!
The drinks and appetizers were great! Had the queso and it was delicious. My waitress was friendly, came by often, and gave me some pointers on the menu. That was all great. I ordered the carnitas Verdes and that was where things went wrong. The green sauce was not good and my carnitas were very dry. The rice was bland and the beans tasted like the ranch style beans that come from a can. I had decided to bring the meat chuncks home and see if I could mix it with a salsa I had but ultimately I was just so turned off, I left it. It was a disappointing experience. But to the credit of the waitstaff, a waiter did try to catch me before I left so I could take my food with me. So the real winners of this place, the waitstaff! They were great!
If you plan to eat at any Mexican Restaurant on Cinco de Mayo, reservations are a must to get a table. I made a reservation for 6:30 for 7 people. When I arrived, I changed the reservation to 5 people. Arrived at 6:25 and was told it would be a few minutes to prepare the table. After a 30 minute wait and inquiring a few times and seeing several tables seated ahead of us, I asked to speak to the manager. Hosted informed me the manager didn’t speak English. There are several good Mexican Restaurants in Lafayette to choose. LaPagua, you have lost a customer that had been eating at your Restuarant since you first opened in your very first location. Very disappointed.
Very nice and professional staff they were absolutely lovely. I loved my server. The only bad thing was I was prepared for authentic Mexican food. If u want authentic Mexican then this is ur place. If ur used to American version like me however then this place might not be for u.
Great food, nice atmosphere
Disgusting food! Have been coming here for years. Tonight the food was very dry and bland. We ordered multiple items and I will never go there again. We tried to help the owner Oscar out by calling and letting them know and asking them if we could bring the food back so they can see for themselves but he denied for any partial or and sort of refund. We couldn’t even eat the food. The chicken taquitos were like chalk. The chicken fajitas were tasteless and smelled nasty. We threw all of the food. I have never once gone to a restaurant and had every single item taste inedible. Will not be going back and this was my favorite restaurant. The only good thing was the guy who picked up the phone and took our order was super helpful
This used to be my favorite Mexican restaurant. The last two visits have been disappointing, but this last one was downright awful. Nothing we ordered came out right--even the boiled onion was burnt. The "queso" was simply seemingly melted Mozzarella cheese. The meat portions were also noticeably less than than previous visits. I don't know if there's new management or new employees, but this isn't the La Pagua that I once enjoyed.
The fajitas were very tasty. I can't wait to go back and attack the Meat Lovers!!!
Food is always delicious and service is always great too! Better than anything else in Lafayette!
Horrible, I ordered a side of cheese that I had to get up and go get from the server myself when they weren’t busy then they charged me $2.25 for a little cup of shredded cheese.
