Haven't been in years. But it's still serving fantastic food, friendly service and wonderful memories for a new generation. Grilled shrimp fried green tomato salad was scrumptious.Didn't have a malted, but the spoonful of bread pudding was mouth-dancing good.
We stopped in Lafayette as part of a long drive home. We stayed in a nearby hotel and were looking for a light meal...and not too expensive. This filled the bill. Just a short drive from our hotel. I checked the menu online before I arrived and had my choice for dinner between the Red Beans and Rice and the Reuben sandwich. Mark (our waiter) recommended the Reuben. I am a sucker for a Reuben. This was a good one, but not a great sandwich. Still, I enjoyed it. My wife had the grilled cheese sandwich with a cup of soup (vegetable). She liked her meal. Overall 4 stars, but not 5 stars.
Stopped here based on google reviews. Great spot if you enjoy a diner feel. Burger was piping hot, staff was friendly and efficient. Got there right before lunch rush and it filled up fast- must be popular with the locals.

Food was awesome. Atmosphere was great. The waitress we had was amazing and a breathe of fresh air. The bread pudding made me weep tears of joy. I attempted to set up a cot in the back but they told me that having people live there was frowned upon. And I mean... come on... they have a Pelican Elvis. (Pelvis.) ??
The server, Dillon, was great. The fried shrimp and blackened catfish salad were good. We enjoyed our time here and therefore had a great visit with friends. Never Have been disappointed by visiting hub city diner.
Amazing food and wonderful people!
Have been there for coffee before, and eaten their French fries. They have a special dish, there called nuclear fries. At least, I think that is the name. They do offer a daily blue plate special. We had the bread pudding with rum sauce, it was very good. They have a lot of customers at times, so there may be a small wait. The staff are very friendly.
We visited recently and enjoyed a great burger and fries. Neat decor and pretty good old fashioned burger. A fun joint. We'll be back to try out other items on the menu.
