I'm so glad this institution in Lafayette is still open. I remember going there 40 years ago.The server was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu items. The ice cream was rich, creamy and flavorful.
It's been 29 years since my wife and I had been here. We had one of our first dates here. We were so happy that it is still here and serving the best ice-cream!
Going to Borden's is a trip down memory lane for me. My first visit was ~60 years ago. You can still sit in a booth and have a wonderful cup of ice cream or a shake. I hope the kids we saw there will be able to travel down memory lane here 60 years from now as I did today.
I got the root beer float with vanilla ice cream. I felt like it could have had more of both as the root beer was not close to the top of the cup. When I received my dessert, it was filled. However this is because the foam gave an illusion of being plentiful until it dissipated. I'm not sure if it was worth it for the price when buying a tub of ice cream and a bottle of root beer is cheaper.
This ice cream is one of the best in the state and definitely worth a stop when you are in Lafayette. The service is great and the portions are large.
I have been coming here since I was a little girl.when ice cream was only a nickel.Love coming here bring back great memories.
Classic, old-school ice cream shop in downtown Lafayette. We had a huge banana split that we shared between 3 people. Prices are very reasonable and the staff was really friendly and helpful.
Been coming here for 40 years! Love my banana split and the have great shakes, malts, floats, sundaes and ice cream. They do serve food but..... this is an ice cream place and that's what they are known for! As there slogan goes, "If it's Bordens, then it's gotta be Good!" This is a hometown tradition for me and an excellent place to bring your family to get a delicious treat! I personally have always had awesome service and friendly people serving my scrumptious desert. You will enjoy!
