Delicious meal for an affordable price. A historic landmark, too. The backyard patio area has a lovely ambiance.
In town for a crawfish run, so we stopped by for Saturday’s Cochon de lait. The meat, barbecue sauce, and sides were great. We also had a Cochon de lait biscuit which was excellent as well. Do yourself a favor and stop by. Great place to sit on the patio and drink a beer when the weather is nice. Unsure what time they actually start serving, but the cochon de lait was ready by 12pm. Looks like they may serve breakfast at 8ish, and I’m sure that’s good too.
Although it is a work in progress, it has fine, authentic Cajun food and very authentic equipment for cochon au lait, smoked brisket, and smoked sausage. Outdoor courtyard dining area also serves as the cooking/smoking area.
Stopped for lunch and it was great. Service and servers were exceptional. Great place if you are looking for a neighborhood joint.
I don't understand the hype about this place. They are only open for a few hours a day. I tried to go there on a weekday at 11:30 and for some reason they were closed. I went back today December 23rd 2021 at 12:15 p.m. . On Thursdays I believe they are supposed to have brisket and smoked turkey wings. All they had was gumbo and a couple of sides. The gumbo was about 90% rice and 10% gumbo. I'll stick to Gary's for my plate lunches from now on. Acadian superette is very poorly run and it shows.
Probably the best plate lunch Lafayette has to offer! Truly a delight and something everyone should salivate upon. Won't touch another plate lunch unless its from Acadiana Superette. Good atmosphere, homestyle cooking, and a retro vibe even old folk would appreciate. Love it here.
This restaurant is a great place to eat. The meals are prepared daily and the owner, one of my brothers best friends is known as the surgeon butcher because he is a surgeon.
Best old fashion burger in town.
