This place is for the birds they have going down hill the quality of the food is not the same as the early 1988. Some things have really changed in the years, we ordered Chi-Cho appetizers to start I was told that they were fresh they just came up how would she know when you're not working in the back of the kitchen when they came out they were dark. When we place our food order and somehow once our food came out what a surprise the Chi-Cho were much lighter and fresher the original Cha-Chos that we ordered as our appetizer may have been recook. This place has really changed they used to be the number one spot. When will we have people wake up and begin to realize not to patronize businesses that don't believe in treating you equal the waiter what's over the top received an over-the-top gratuity
Update: I'm back and this time I didn't have to sit in my car. Four of us went for lunch and we enjoyed the Boneless chicken combo lunch and one Empress Chicken over noodles. It's a HUGE serving of chicken served with delicious shrimp fried rice and two Cho-Cho (stuff triangle shaped fried won ton with a mix of Chinese roast pork, shrimp, and green & white onion). The Beef Skewers were flavorful, tender and juicy. Just dang good... oh and the service is always great! This pic is me, in my car, grubbing on the boneless chicken. Hot, fresh and so, so tender! Love it...
this is still quite a place for food and beverages...i had egg rolls and sweet and sour shrimp... she had fried won tons and lemon chicken... we shared pork fried rice...the food is DELICIOUS!!!we imbibed on the signature mai-tais and they were good and strong...it's been a while... but, this is still a great place to geaux!the staff is helpful and friendly...i'll even bet they were all smiles under their masks...
Love them. Fav Chinese. !!!!!! But$13 for a small shrimp fry rice is insane !!!!! when at other places it’s usually 5 or 6 dollars for small rice !!!! I only go to them when I want to treat myself prices wayyyyyy to high but well worth it !
We've been coming to China Doll for years, but today was the last time. The food was horrible. The chicken and rice had absolutely no flavor. The Crab Rangoon had an overwhelming onion taste. The food was not worth the price we paid at all.
Love the food, hate the take out service. If, big IF, you can get someone on the phone to take your order, that does not guarantee your order is being placed. Went to the restaurant after waiting 45 minutes like we were told, to pick up our order, only to be told the order can’t be found. Another 45 minutes of waiting in the restaurant after placing a second order.
This is the best Chinese restaurant I've been to in a long while. My wife is Chinese and loves it. Certainly it's one of the best in the New Orleans area. Large portions, fresh seafood and vegetables, perfectly seasoned, and a great atmosphere for a most wonderful lunch or dinner. Perfect Mai Tai available also.
Only 4 stars, lousy customer service. Site says lunch prices good till 4pm but really they cut it off at 3:45 even when u on hold!!! So call early and dial feverishly to get thru and it will ring and hang up, keep dialing you will eventually get thru need to catch up to the times on ordering!!!
The food was just plan nasty!!! I order shrimp/broccoli and shrimp fried rice. The shrimp with broccoli was not clean. The shrimp fried rice was hard and the shrimps was small.I Will Not Be Back There To Eat!!! I'll stay with August Moon!!! They the best!!!
I have been going to China Doll on Manhattan Blvd for over 15 yrs And never had a complaint. Well today I have one. It was horrible! Soggy fried rice, food had no flavor and was very cold.$49.00 for one entree an order of crab racoon definitely was not worth it! Must be under new management. Do not recommend.
