Used to be one of our favorite places, but the last few times have absolutely sucked, mainly due to service. There’s a few veteran waitresses there who are awesome, but the ones we’ve had lately are absolutely terrible. Last week went in with my husband and toddler for a quick lunch. Two other tables were seated after us and got their drinks and started ordering before we were even greeted. Our server brought our drinks, took our appetizer and my son’s order and then disappeared. Someone else brought out our queso and salsa and later my son’s kid’s meal. She never checked on us after our appetizer or his meal. We had to flag another waitress down to get more chips and a refill on drinks. She got us more chips and said she’d let her know, but we were left waiting a while. Couldn’t eat half our queso because it was cold at that point. Had to flag another waitress down to find our server so we could order (we’ve been there over half hour already). Finally ordered, food took forever (not sure why, we’ve seen it twice as busy before with faster service- I ordered a salad and he got an appetizer) and my husband’s order was incorrect but at this point we just wanted to eat and get out of there. Finished our meal and just sat around looking and trying to get her attention, but our server was too preoccupied doing her side work than tending to her table. Ended up refilling our own sweet teas and getting our own to go boxes. Flagged our server down to ask for the check, she just drops it off and leaves as my husband is putting the card down (wallet was already out and ready to go). Finally my husband had to get up and interrupt her and her friends chatting in the back and ask if he could pay his bill, which was met with some attitude. I had already left, walked two blocks, and changed a toddler in the back of the car before he even made it out. We spent over an hour and a half there for what was supposed to be a quick lunch. As a former server and restaurant manager, that was the first time in my life I’ve felt a server didn’t deserve a tip at all, and I always tip over 20%, but she still got hers. Please educate your staff on how to do their job halfway decent and what it means to turn tables.
My husband and I absolutely love this place!! The staff and atmosphere are top notch!! We always try to request to sit in Peter’s section because he always makes our night!! Tacos &Beer is our go to restaurant when we want to go out!!
The Shrimp Enchilada Plate was delicious … so much food I could only eat half of it. ❤️
Yo, I never eat in. I’ve actually never eaten in or gone to the bar, but those takeout orders ??????. My go to is the barria tacos with a side of bean soup (don’t judge me). Everytime I’ve gone, waitresses/hostesses have been nice, knowledgeable, helpful, and attentive.Low key, ain’t no reason to look up reviews for Tacos and Beer cause they’re consistently excellent- especially in terms of local eats.
Continues to be my favorite taco stop in Hammond. I'll admit, the steak and chicken street tacos I can't seem to develop a taste for (always seem to be dry and bland for my personal taste) but everything else is always great. Any place has its bad days, but after a few years of consistent visits, I'd say its a Five Star in my book overall.
One of our Favorite places to eat. Love the Street Tacos, Tacos Dorados and their tortilla chips for me can't be beat. They do a good chicken tender basket for the kids as well, my five year old chows down every time:)

Street style tacos are the best around. Good drinks too. The DUI fries are my favorite but get fresh jalapenos on the side no pickled ones. You'll thank me later
The best Mexican food in Hammond and the bartenders Chris, Matt, and Grace(?) are amazing.
I LOVE this place!! The bartenders know what they're doing making their delicious margaritas. The food is always delicious. And the atmosphere is almost always chill but upbeat. Personally, I just don't like when it becomes over crowded. But I understand that comes with being a great quality restaurant/bar. Especially on taco Tuesday ? If you've never been, you're missing out! Try the wings at least once, thank me later ?
