Food is a little pricey for the quality. Also the servers impose an 18% tip for larger parties, this is an option and they should allow the guest to give them a tip they think the server deserves. My server short changed herself by doing this, I planned on leaving more, yes I could have added but not after she decided what she was worth and took my money without allowing me the choice.
I have been ordering tamales a la carte for years to go. I have always ordered 3 - 4 and asked for them to be covered in chili. I have never paid more than $20 with tax and tip. I ordered them today with a basic steak quesadilla with an individual who gave me a total of $48. When asked what that included, they indicated there was now a charge for the chili con queso of $12. I am sorry but $48 for 4 tamales ($3.95 each) and a steak quesadilla with queso and chili is OUTRAGEOUS!!!! I question the staff and one of the "Gomez" children. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS and I am SHOCKED that even though I am in there ONCE a month, this is not what I am paying or what I will even pay! I feel sure if I go in this week, and make another to go other the price will go down because it really depends on who you get. No one budged on the priced. Saritas? CONSISTENCY!!!! No worried I got my tamales and chili con queso down the road for $18 TOTAL! SHAME SHAME!! I WILL NOT BE BACK IN THERE!!!!! GET IT TOGETHER! GET WITH YOUR EMPLOYEES!!! GET WITH THE OWNER, NOT THE OWNERS DAUGHTER JASMINE!! OUTRIGHT OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is THE FIRST of many posts!!!!!!!!!!!
Best Mexican food in Hammond by my opinion not the cheapest, El Agave still holds that title. But still definitely price friendly. Drinks are good food is amazing. The service is on point and very nice. From here on out this will be the only Mexican food I buy in Hammond, Apart from the rare occasions out with others at different places. Stop thinking about it, if it's food your after then definitely go to Sarita's.
The steak fajitas are perfect and they have my favorite queso with beef. Definitely a gem in Hammond, where there are literally so many Mexican restaurants. 10/10 would recommend eating in or taking out. The staff is friendly and the service is fast.
They advertise LargeTop Shelf Margaritas for the price of Small. They use a self made premix for Top Shelf and you have no input on what Tequila you can have. I asked for a Top Shelf with Don Julio and the Bartender charged full price instead of the advertise price.Food was good but Bartenders Customer Service attitude SUCKS!!!Lost two customers and he doesn’t care!!!Bruce Almighty
Lots of choices. Taco salad great. Nice staff. Prices appropriate for area and quality of food. Bring your family and friends because the choices are plentiful along with the portions.

Not the taste of a Mexican food.... the rice taste like microwave cook with no flavor...fajitas no flavor..beans from Wal-Mart can.I will not come back to this place.
