Man what a surprise. This place was excellent. Will definitely come back. I had ramen and pork belly buns. Both took a lot longer than poke but both were some of the best I’ve had. Really good food. Everyone is was with really liked their poke bowls.
I have to say this place is nothing short of amazing! I've been here twice and I love it and will stop here everytime I come through Hammond. My favorite is the Tonkotsu ramen. However they cook the pork is so tinder it literally melts in your mouth. The dish was very impressive!
It was great. Good food good service. The food choices are very unique and tasty.
I wrote a long, detailed review the other day after visiting here. It was not a great experience. I felt bad afterward because maybe it was just a bad day. I will try again because the food is excellent. The customer service aspect was terrible though. Will update upon a return.
We really used to like this place but tonight was our last visit. Not only was the food sub par tonight but there was only one girl working while another lady was horsing around with a child at the food line area. The child was so loud that the stupid speaker that you have to talk into to order sounded like a high pitched squeal throughout the place. Not once did anyone help the single girl working or corrected this child from touching everything. The crab stick in our bowls was old and literally dried out. The $ 5.00 Thai tea tasted nothing like it usually does. Poke City, you really went downhill and need to do better! I feel really bad for the girl working and seeing her stress level having to work around that unsupervised child while an even longer line was forming. Too many better run places to spend our money at.
The food tastes good but what is the real draw is their drink options. They have fantastic smoothies, teas, and other fruit based drinks. I loved the music playing, it took me back to my childhood in the 90's.The highly recommended smoothies aside, foodwise the restaurant is decent. Nothing was over or under cooked. Nothing tasted off, everything seemed fresh and well prepared. In terms of elevating the food to more than their component ingredients, this isn't the restaurant I would go to. There isn't anything wrong with that, it just means if you want sushi and miso soup, Nagoya is right down the street. If you want Mexican, El Paso is in town. Looking over the menu, I would say the draw for here is the variety and care for higher quality ingredients. I will say that their teriyaki chicken tastes better than Nagoya and several other local options.I was left feeling confused about what makes it Hawaiian food with the exception of including pineapple in some of the dishes, which is probably why I took one star off. This feels more like Hawaiian/Asian fusion with a small element of Mexican.
The place looks awesome. The food was super fresh. The sauce i got was not tasty. I got the ginger one. So my bowl was tasteless thank God the actual fruit and vegetables were super fresh. I would go again try a different sauce. My husband said he was being stingy with servings. He wanted me to tell him to put more of each ingredient but I didn't. We go to every poke place in every city in United States. We travel a lot. Poke are my favorite meal
My partner was super excited to treat me to lunch here and I didn't understand why... Until I took the first bite out of my cajun bowl and my first sip of the Jasmine Bubble tea! The place inside was clean and organized well, Barbara and Gracie was very warm and open in helping answering any questions about the food and tea. Their open friendly nature helped my overall experience here.
My husband has been talking about how good this place is for months. He frequently goes when working in the area. He finally convinced me to take the trip over from Slidell. It was delicious. Most of us had poke bowls, but my son had the ramen. Everything was fresh and delicious. I saw a few posts about the wait for your food. Our food was made fresh, so yes it’s going to take some time. I wish they’d put one in the Fremaux Shopping center in Slidell.
I love their food but the wait time is very long I always try to order ahead tho. I went today around 8:15 and they close at 9:15 and wasn't able to order because they started closing. It was a inconvenience and if they do close that early they should fix the time online and on their door.
