My family has been many times and I guess the last couple experiences were just downright bad and they'd decided not to go again. Well when the first two places the birthday girl chose were closed we didn't have much choice. Boy were we glad those first two places were closed that day. Dinner was outstanding! The spinach dip with bootie pasta was delicious, the steaks were seasoned to perfection and tender as butter and the service was top-notch. I believe y'all may have earned back some customers who definitely had no plans to come back.
This place was GREAT! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and most of all the food was AWESOME! The best steak I've ever tasted. I will be going back.
We love Buddies! We visit often, at least a couple times a month. I always get the crab cakes. They are the closest thing I’ve had next to my grandmother’s crab cakes. She worked in a crabmeat picking factory, and could clean a crab in less than a minute! She had the best crab cakes ever! Buddies is very close to her’s. My S.O. loves getting the queens filet. It’s truly his favorite thing to eat. The chef/owner comes out and gives taste testings of new things he creates. He brings it right to the table. Buddies is definitely the place to be. Their staff is amazing, & very helpful. But the main thing is, how good everything is at this restaurant!
What a wonderful dinner we had Saturday! The steak was cooked to perfection, our waitress, Sarah, was professional and the atmosphere cozy. I would recommend Buddies for the perfect night out!
Not enough places in Hammond with great service like Buddy's. Our steak was perfect , with onions and mushrooms and garlic! Oh My! My seafood potato was delicious. But food is not enough to aprase me. Our drinks were also delicious. But the SERVICE! It was the service that was the delightful, singular cherry on top of my experience. On point, polite, professional, never intrusive, always one step ahead of my own requests. And not once forgot to get me anything I asked for. It's nice to get this service in Hammond. 10 out of 10.
Buddies is an excellent steakhouse that's a really hidden gem. I went there long ago with friends and always loved the food. I recently stopped back and had an incredible pork loin and great experience as you have no idea from the outside how nice it is and it's far too easy to drive right by. Too many people go downtown and as one of those people that spends too much time downtown I need to make it a point to come here more often.Also for some reason Google Maps said Buddies was closed Memorial Day and I'd hate it if they kept any business away.
Great food and service. Wine list is ok but could add additional popular wines. Steaks, chicken parmigiana and everything else is very good.

Everything was great but do not book a reservation with them through open table as they do not utilize if. You have to call for a reservation. We booked a reservation through open table and when we arrived they didnât have our reservation and when we said it was through open table we were told, âoh, we donât really use that; you have to call.â We were able to get a table.
Our server was great. My steak was $13.00 MORE then what it says on the website. And my steak was not as good as it use to be. They do not offer you any bread or crackers. You can not even buy any bread, except for their $12.00 Oyster Loaf. They do not serve Baked Potatoes anymore. They do have Mashed Potatoes with the peeling in them. Yuck. The food was ok. We will not be back for a while.
