I have always enjoyed Poboy Express. I gave it 2 stars because the shrimp were well seasoned. However their prices went up to 19.99, so I ordered half for 9.99. There were literally 7 shrimp on my sandwich. I ordered it fully dressed and recieved it with a tomato slice on one side of the sandwich and about 1/3rd of a cup of lettuce total. The fries were not completely cooked and soggy. We spent 30.00 for dinner and I felt like we ate bread for supper. I called the manager to complain and he seemed uninterested in my complaint and said they would try to do better next time. There won't be a next time for me.
The food is delicious, but expensive! Their fish, shrimp and oysters are delicious. And they make a jam up roast beef Poboy! Check them out!
This place is awesome, everyone works really hard and try to make sure they meet your standards. The two cashiers were friendly and the cooks and sandwich maker worked really hard for being super busy Friday night. Everyone deserves a raise
Ordered a roast beef poboy this morning. The roast beef was dry. The gravy was watery and looked like they just added water to it so that they wouldn't have to make more. I also found a cockroach in my bag. I am a regular customer who comes almost everyday. The more I go to this place, the more cockroaches I see. This place is just filthy and needs better management. Poboy Express, you have lost a customer. Also, the fact that the prices went up again is extremely ridiculous. The prices went up higher than the temper and attitude the cashiers always have. I have heard how the owner talks to his employees a couple of times and it is straight up unprofessional and I feel like as an old restaurant owner, there are better ways to resolve problems instead of throwing items across the kitchen and yelling profanity. I would not want to work here if I were the employees. I bet the pay is not even worth the labor.
Do not go here. Absolutely disgusting. How are they still in business? I'm not kidding, the windows in the dinning room are so dirty and filthy that you can't see through them. $22 for a gross roast beef po boy, small fries and small drink? A hot dog bun is not french bread. How do you slice tomatoes so freaking thin? I know why you do it, but how? They are see through ? lettuce is really cheap but you barely use any. Why is a woman brushing her 3' long hair in the kitchen next to the cook making everybody's food???
2/24/2022 12:30 - Denham Springs - Ordered a shrimp Po-boy. The shrimp is obviously old and taste fishy. I called the restaurant to warn them their shrimp is out of date. First off, I can't understand a word the girl that answered the phone was saying. Second, the first the thing manager says is come back we'll make you a new one. If your shrimp is bad, I certainly don't want more of it. Also, I'm on my lunch break, by the time I get back to my office, I won't have time to eat. After I say this, it's just silence, like he had no idea what to do. Then I hear him talking to somebody "he say somebody gone get sick". It's a shame, I used to enjoy this place but with the massive price increase (I mean $20 for a hamburger po-boy with patties the size a McDonald's burger?) and the incompetence of the staff, I will be choosing to have lunch elsewhere.
If you're from out of town, go somewhere else for Cajun food. You could make your own po'boy better. I think they get the bread from Walmart, and the shrimp are from shrimp farms in Taiwan. Not to mention, that the po'boy for $10 was about 6 inches long, a ripoff.
For years, Po-boy Express was one of the better po-boys around. The portions were great, customer service was great, and the orders were always accurate. Today I have eaten my last poboy from there. I ordered a regular roast beef supreme at the Denham Springs location, and what I ended up getting was a bun, with one slice of roast beef and one slice of turkey (both cold), buried in lettuce, with one little chunk of tomato. They didn't put the swiss cheese on it at all, which they seem to routinely forget. The fries were cold and soggy, and finally, the bread was what you might find in a bread isle of a store, but it is most certainly NOT the same po-boy bread they used before, and anyone who knows po-boys knows the bread is a BIG DEAL... I would give them ZERO stars if I could. I'm saddened by this; I've been a customer of theirs for over 20 years now, maybe 30... The food was always consistent. Not anymore and I won't be returning. If you're considering eating something from here, do it at your own risk. PS - the lady that took the order on the phone was rude and disrespectful. She acted like she didn't want to be there and couldn't care less about whether the order was good or not. Someone needs to clean house and hire new employees because they are terrible right now.
I really wish there was an option to leave a half star. My husband and I just went through the drive through at the Denham springs location. A guy asked if he could take our order. We were still looking so my husband says " yeah just one second" This guy literally comes back and says " I don't have a second" My husband said " what did you say" he came back laughing and said " Sorry sir that wasn't meant for you" Meanwhile you can hear girls giggling in the background. So either he thought he was funny or he was too dumb to realize his head set was on. Because there's no doubt that was meant for us. Needless to say we won't be back. And to the manager or owner if you read this... You should SERIOUSLY think about firing whatever guy was working the headset tonight around 6:30.
Chicken philly had very little chicken. Why would u sell a sandwich with no meat?? Mushrooms were salty. Second time this has happened. This is my last visit spending 26 dollars for much of nothing.
