We were celebrating my fatherâs 86th birthday with a group of 11 family members. He loves the fried fish at Donâs so we selected the location in Denham Springs the staff were very accommodating and made it a very special event. The food was good and some of our party enjoyed the Sunday brunch which was something new that I had not experienced at that location. We had 4 children with us ages 10 to 13 who are all very picky eaters and the wait staff was very accommodating.
Father's Day dinner was nice, food and service was very good. Besides for a high pitched shrill screaming child, dinner was very nice.
The service was excellent and staff very friendly. We had a reservation for 8 and we were sat right awayâ¦. Even though we were a little late. Reservation was for 11:15 but thought it was 11:30. The restaurant ended up calling us to check to see if we were still comingâ¦.We apologized and staff said no problem! Food was delicious and came out pretty fast (it was Fathers Day)â¦. We had one item that was not greatâ¦. Crab claws seemed frozen and were over cooked. Other than that food was very good esp the desserts!
3.5 out of 5. If I was able to eat there it may have been better. Just to be fair I am reviewing a to go order and although the customer service was great. This is all about the food. Shrimp Po Boy w Fries 3/5 Fries were ice cold, shrimp po boy needed more flavor Oyster Po Boy w Salad 4/5 Salad and homemade dressing was delicious, oyster po boy needed something Boudin 4/5 Very flavorful and good
We stopped in at Don's Seafood for a bite to eat, remembering that it was very good the first time we are there. We were served by a young lady named Taylor. She was very personable and helpful with our ordering process. She made a couple recommendations and took out orders. We started with fried mushrooms, which are only on their Secret Menu, then ordered the Seafood Combo and Grilled Shrimp Dinner. The food we received was actually what we ordered, so they get great marks for that. And it was delivered with a smile, which also got high marks. The Grilled Shrimp and Fried Mushrooms were spot on and my wife was very happy. Unfortunately, the Seafood Combo was not up to par, with the fried catfish portions being small and mostly tasteless, the fried shrimp being overdone and the stuffed shrimp being a tad underdone. The Shrimp Etouffee was good though. All in all, some of the food was not what I remember, but our server made it an enjoyable visit nonetheless.
Went for brunch. Tried the Crab Cake Benedict. Everything tasted delicious, and the service was phenomenal. Especially considering it was a holiday.My only complaint would be that one of my two poached eggs was cooked through with no runny yolk. The other was also overcooked, but not quite as much. Otherwise, a great experience. Would definitely go again.
