The food was great but this “women” sitting at our table was not only on her phone the entire time, she was on on a FaceTime call so it was also on speaker. The ENTIRE TIME!!! If I was in a regular restaurant I’d have asked to be moved. Sitting 8 to a table it was impossible to escape. It ruined our entire visit. What is wrong with people. And it was like she dared any of us to say anything. We have lost our voice and our rights in this country to expect simple common decency and manners. Never again!
Ate lunch here today and was absolutely disappointed. We came during peak lunch time and received dry food. It was obviously cooked prior to our arrival and kept under warming lamps until everything dried. One of our plates asked for extra vegetables (specifically 2 types since Osaka no longer substitutes rice and we have to pay for extra veggies) and we received a plate that was scraped together from 2 pre-made plates.I do not know what happened within the last 6 months, but bland dry food like that will not receive business from me again. Be Warned!! Do not eat the lunch!!
February 19, 2022 I can’t say there’s anything that I DO recommend at Osaka West. Arrived about 1:00 pm. A couple of tables were filled, but I chose the sushi bar, which was empty of both patrons and chefs. Woman who greeted/seated me brought drink & soup. Still no chef. I asked if there was a chef and she assured me there was. Another few minutes, he arrives. He does not approach the area of the bar where I’m sitting, nor does he acknowledge me. He goes to the side and continues to be engrossed in his phone. I get the woman’s attention and she asks if I’m ready to order. “I have some questions.” Apparently I have to ask her, not the chef. “Do you have any other fish today other than what’s listed on the menu under sashimi?“ “Sashimi is just fish no rice.“ “Yes I know that. I wanted to know if you might have gotten in any other fish.” “No“ “I would like to have one piece of each kind of fish not one whole plate of one kind of fish.“ “We don’t do that. You can only have 2 kinds. “' “ OK I’ll have cucumber salad with crab , and eel “ (Pointing at Eel sushi on the menu) and white tuna sushi.” “Eel roll?” “ no eel sushi “ Cucumber salad arrives and appears to be one very large cucumber and one piece of shredded imitation crab stick, And absolutely nothing else. I asked the chef if I can please have some wasabi. He pointed to the wasabi on the plate that he is preparing. I ask again. Nothing. I get the waitress. She says he’s not done with the plate yet. I say yes but I want it for this (pointing at the cucumber salad). She takes a minute or two and goes around the back of the sushi bar and brings me out a dish with wasabi in it. ( What, the chef was too busy making those four pieces of sushi to hand me some wasabi??) He finally hands me my four pieces of sushi and leaves, having spoken not a word or looked at me or smiled or anything. Normally I order $50-60 worth or so, and tip 25%. This was less than $30 of “just ok” sushi, and the tip was considerably less than 25%. I can’t wait to go back to the best sushi restaurant, AKI !!!!
love the hibatchi! JJ is the best chef. always a fun time.
Very unimpressed with the restaurant. We went there because another hibachi place was closed already. I ordered the hibachi salmon, first it took almost an hour to get a chef at our table, then we didn't really get a show... More a quick make the food and leave kind of deal. We had to use plastic utensils. We didn't get a salad, because they were out. I ordered my salmon medium, got it well done to an extend where the outside was borderline black and crispy. The rice wasn't cooked all the way. Oh and the price was still at the regular price.... I believe it was $34 for my dinner(I can't really find the price online anymore)Won't be coming back to this restaurant anytime soon.
Got hibachi, good food but for the price we shouldn't be using plastic utensils, noodles in the soup were crunchy and not apparently cooked
Awful experience food was only ok and they were super slow and we still couldn’t get service took over an hour after we were seated in addition they are over priced They also give you plastic utensils
Chef was entertaining. Waitstaff was attentive. Meal price increased but food quality didn’t. Didn’t serve the salad with our meal. Was given plastic utensils for dine in. When I asked the server about metal utensils, he stated they haven’t purchased any since Covid and had no idea when they would stop serving the plastic utensils. Food was not as tasty as previous Visits.
Party of eight, we arrived to have hibachi for my grandmother's 79th birthday at 6pm on a Friday night and they told us less than any hour for our chef. Then we heard the one chef they had on staff tell someone that everything would be two hours wait. We left.
Great food, Always! Fast service for the most part & the people that work here are always friendly & know how to make you & the kids laugh. I highly recommend because whenever I visit Louisiana I ALWAYS stop here to eat.?
