I'd give Don Taco Village zero stars if I could. I've been out to eat enough times to know that no experience will be perfect, but the number of disappointing aspects of this restaurant is mind-boggling.We went to Don Taco Village for lunch and wanted to beat the rush, so we arrived a little before noon. The restaurant was empty and filled with smoke. At first it smelled amazing, but after sitting in that environment for a while, my eyes began to burn.Since it was our first time, we sat with the menus to decide what we wanted before we ordered at the counter. After walking up to the counter, we probably waited at least five minutes for the woman to come out of the kitchen and help us.We ordered two birria tacos, one Don Taco style-grilled steak taco, a medium chori-queso, one street corn, and two drinks. We wanted horchata and melon but were told they didn't have either. We settled on two lime-cucumber drinks, which were WAY too sweet.According to the prices on their printed menus, our total before tax should've been $26.50. Instead, our total was $42.00. The woman kept having to answer the phone and take orders while she was ringing us up, so we didn't have a chance to clarify the price difference. The tacos were tasty, but very small. There was no chorizo in the chori-queso and it was watery and tasteless. The chips were overly fried. When our food was brought to us the woman said the street corn was on the way. By this point, there was a line nearly out the door and it was just this one woman taking orders, answering the phone, and bussing tables. Eventually the street corn came after we had finished the rest of our food. It was mediocre at best. Why is this place so popular? The food is incredibly over priced (assuming they raised their prices and didn't update their menus?) and the service isn't great. STAY AWAY!!!

Not good at all. Was very excited to try birria on the Northshore, and will not come back. Smoky and hot indoors. We got birria tacos, and street tacos. The birria was burnt, hard, and greasy. Actually inedible. The lady asked “how is everything” and when I kindly told her what my concerns were, she gave me a sarcastic response saying “yeah they’re tacos made on the grill, so thats why they’re like that”…..This isn’t my first time having birria, and I know how they are prepared, but the lack of accountability or acknowledgement that we were not happy with the food rubbed me the wrong way. She didn’t bother asking if we wanted something else, a refund, or even apologized for the food being burnt. Save yourself the disappointment, and try somewhere else.

I have been looking for a legit Mexican restaurant with real birria tacos, and I am glad to have finally found this place.I was so excited I got 1 of every taco they have, and they were all great. The birria taco and chorizo taco were favorites.Tamales were good but much larger than I expected. Was my first time trying elotes and it was delicious! My friends all enjoyed their entrees as well.I'll definitely be returning here with friends.

I got their carne asada burrito and it was fire. I also got their tres leche cake and it was okay. Deff love this place tho.

Very fresh and delicious food!

Best chicken taco’s I have ever had!!!

Probably the most authentic Mexican food on the north shore now. Food is excellent and prices are great. Make sure you just get at least two orders of birria tacos, order more as needed. That good. Don’t skimp on the street corn either!

Great Mexican food in town! A little over priced but it was delicious.

I cannot recommend this place enough. Disregard any Mexican restaurants that are not Don Taco because let me tell you, it’s not authentic. Don Taco is genuine, authentic Mexican food that feels like a burst of euphoria in every bite. My bank account is crying from visiting here so often and my husband and I come here almost three times a week, maybe more or less depending on how much our budget allows. I am genuinely surprised no one is banging down the door for their delicious tacos, but that means more for the ones who love this place right ? As we speak I’m getting a craving

My wife and I stopped in for lunch and absolutely loved the place. We had the steak Migadas and the pastor Migadas. Both were really good! So much to try on the menu. We can’t wait to go back
