Local place recommended by locals. Gumbo was tasteless. Grilled chicken sandwich was also tasteless…no seasoning whatsoever. Same for the fries. The four stars are for the potato casserole and the waitress, who was very efficient. I think this place is known for their oysters, which they were out of.
Had the chargrilled oysters. Fantastic wife ate them and doesn’t even like oysters! Seafood gumbo was delicious.
Buster's is such a friendly place to eat. Everyone, staff and customers, are happy here. We chowed down on seafood platters...shrimp and oysters to die for.. The best Southern food. Gumbo is as good as my Daddy's,and he is Boudreaux.
Buster's is located in the heart of Covington. It has a distinct home town feel and offers everything you want in local cuisine. If you are in the mood to have lunch and watch a football game, enjoy a cocktail and crack wise with friends Buster's is the place. The joint is not quiet, so if you want to bring Grandma and hold a conversation find another place. I had a bowel of Gumbo with chicken and andouille sausage. The roux was thick, dark and yummy. We were inclined to have a second bowel but did not have room. Can't wait to go back.
Very good, but limited menu! Like many Restaurants, they have had to cut back. Service was good and food was good...especially the raw oysters, which i went there for!
We enjoyed the special of grilled oysters on the half shell along with goose island ipa.

The oysters are the best in town. Don't waste time at Don's, get over to Busters on Thursday night for $10 dozen oysters.
