This was the most disappointing meal I have ever eaten. I went to Sam's Southern Eatery because I wanted stuffed shrimp. When I got home this is not what I had at all. They gave me some wierd shrimp with cheese. I don't know what that is but I live way too far away to go back and talk about it. My solution is never to go back.
I ordered a large order of red beans and rice today because it's my pregnancy craving currently.I get home and open my order to discover that it's 90% rice with only a little bit of beans. That is ridiculous. Tried calling but Everytime I try , the line is busy. Super upset that I won't have enough to fill me up.....as this was supposed to be my meal.
I used to love Sam’s before they got new owners. I was a regular here. They changed the way the fish tasted and now it doesn’t have the flavor I love anymore. I hate giving this place a bad review because I loved it so much, but it’s just ruined now. Plus the fountain machine is never working and that’s annoying. I’ll be looking for another Sam’s that has their old flavor.
Chairs had not been dusted for spider webs, seemed like it had been recently reopened as a new restaurant endeavor. Food was great well portioned and great prices. Great fish fry.
The food was medium priced at $57 for four people. It was also mediocre in taste. We had fish, shrimp, hamburger and Philly cheesesteak. The cheesesteak was the best of the earth.
Very polite employees. Had the fried fish and shrimp, very delicious. Price not bad either. Place very clean.
Some of the best food in town can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
I haven't felt as gross about eating somewhere in a long time. I didn't pick this place to stop, our traveling companion did. Otherwise, I would have turned around as fast as we walked in. Wow. This restaurant was just filthy. The employee behind the counter was licking their fingers. The floor hadn't been cleaned in a really long time. They were out of several items on the menu. They had no ice. The tea was old. The ladies room was barely lit, dirty, and in need of every kind of maintenance possible. I don't have anything good to say about it, and I'm a pretty positive person. Just skip it, y'all.
Soda machine does not work, poor customer service and no condiments available. Typically Sam's gives extra pieces of fish or shrimp but not here. Also, fish served without hush puppies. Go to the one on Baksdale Blvd instead, it's much better.
This is the the best Sam's Southern Eatery along the I-20 corridor Eatery. The building is definitely a little rustic. But the service is exceptional. The 7.99 lunch soecial included a small drink, a mountain of fries, 2 delicious fish, and 4 gigantic shrimp.
