I had my last visit to this Catfish King in 2017. So, when passing through the Shreveport, Louisiana area on Sunday, April 24, 2022, I figured it was time to stop in again. Had my usual "special catch" fried catfish king meal along with a cup of gumbo and it was just as good as my last visit. The salad bar items of salad, coleslaw, tomato relish, etc., was fresh and tasty as well as the fries and hush puppies. Service was friendly and quick. Highly recommended for those of you who love fried catfish!

I went with a group of 5 other people to supper last Friday evening, April 22, 2022. This restaurant was one of the person's favorite restaurants. We were all very disappointed. First of all, our waitress had a very bad attitude. Anytime we asked for something, she would roll her eyes and sigh. As if that wasn't bad enough, the food had no flavor. Half of us, had the fish. There were no seasonings in the breading at all! My husband had the shŕimp and he said it also was not seasoned and all our food was cold. I can assure you, we won't be going back! Plus, as we were leaving, there was an employee standing right next to the door smoking.
Back in the day this was good food. Today.....it was horrible. Fish was like rubber, fried oyster were soggy and tasted old, steak was tough and all of it was very under seasoned!Our waitress was new and very nice and the sweet tea was good. The only reason for 1 star. Otherwise no stars!!!
The food was delicious and the waitress was great. Only problem I have is there help situation... I know they are trying to find worker's
Cajun Catfish Catfish & Shrimp ??. Best salad ? wonderful people. A once A MONTH MUST. We drive about 40 miles to eat there.
My husband and I got the senior fish plate. It comes with Cole slaw, French fries, pinto beans and hush puppies. If you order water, you get a trip to the salad bar which we did. The salad bar has fresh items and plenty to choose from. The fish is seasoned well and fried to perfection. The prices are very reasonable. We always enjoy David Beards. Highly recommend.
I would have given them a five star if it weren't for the lady on the phone that took my to go order. She must be kin to the big bad wolf because she kept huffing and puffing everytime I asked for simple things like lemon. I get it people get frustrated but customer service should always be on point. I've had to answer phone calls for customers before right after my truck broke down my girlfriend left me and my dog got ran over but I still acted as if I was the friendliest guy on earth. Food was really good. Great job chef! Somebody give the lady who answers the phone a hug..
It was great to learn this restaurant was open to dine in again. Hiring difficulty had only allowed drive thru to be open. Found the food still of good quality and the servers were courteous, friendly and continued to check on you after served. Still short handed we were told, however, we enjoyed it!
Absolutely wonderful. The staff was friendly and kind. Everything from the salad bar to the main course was perfectly seasoned not over done. We will be going there often
