We asked them to make a bridal shower cake using freeze dried edible flowers and they delivered! So thankful to have such an amazing bakery in town.

Great Baton Rouge institution. Solid choice for delectable cakes and pastries. I also highly recommend the petit fours.

I’ll give them points for having different speciality cakes. My boyfriend loves German Chocolate Cake, so I decided to order through them for his birthday cake. It’ll be my last time shopping with this establishment. People rave about this place and I’m not sure why. Maybe the cakes are good, but the customer service is absolutely horrendous and not worth it. I waited 30 minutes in the pick up line for a cake I ordered days in advance. There were three employees, but only one was working the register. The other two employees waited around, until the pick up line got so ridiculous before they started helping this one employee out. I don’t care how good the food is, I will refuse to go back to business with poor, unacceptable service. I encourage you to shop somewhere else, there are numerous bakeries in Baton Rouge.

Ambrosia has the best cakes around but good luck trying to make an order. Their website to order always has issues and they never answer the phone or return messages. The last few times I needed a cake, I had to go to the store and order or get it from somewhere else. When I do go to the store and ask someone for help, I've been told several times by the person that they can't leave their spot. Really sad that they have such good products but terrible customer service.

I was very pleased with the cakes I ordered for a couples shower. I ordered yellow cake with cream filling and traditional white butter cream icing. The cakes were super moist with tremendous flavor! You could actually smell the freshness and bakery smell from just standing next to the cake. Everyone was asking me where I got the cake from. Thanks for helping us pull off a beautiful shower with a yummy cake.

Recently purchased a King Cake from here. It was a basic creme cheese filled cake. Let's start with price, this cake was a medium which cost $24.00 plus tax. I would consider that expensive for a KK but if it is good quality then the price is no problem. My cake was Dry as the Mojave desert and the cream cheese fill was used sparingly. I'm not going to say that everything at this bakery is 1 star but this is the second KK that I got from here that has been dry. This will be my last time. It is disappointing to special order a KK and receive something less than enjoyable. I would rather take my chances with the local grocery store. To make matters worse, we call to tell them about this issue only to be humiliated and ask for pictures of the dry KK. so here are the pictures.

There mouse is frosting I bought 2 cookies and cream mouse dome and the cookie was soggy, the domes and base were to thick to get into and the service was not good. I waited to be helped and tried to get there servers attention but was ignore. I had to follow a girl to place an order. Also there paper-base was coming apart in the frosting

They used to be a lot better for king cakes. Which is really disappointing. Now, they are even outperformed by grocery stores (e.g., Rouses). They no longer have a full selection of king cakes ready to buy. You have to preorder them now, and then they can vary in size. Mine was half the size of why they used to be and barely covers half the tray (pic included). It should also be noted, in their benefit, that the staff are generally friendly.

Got my birthday cake (Fresh Strawberry Cake) from here just to taste it and be highly disappointed. Whole cake was old tasting and the strawberries were not fresh... they were black and purple toned....it tasted like sugar was not a ingredient in this cake absolutely horrible and a waste of $50....

My most recent experience with this place has convinced me to avoid it in the future. I ordered a pie--not customized or anything, just an apple pie. I arrived at the date and time it was scheduled for pickup. They said the pie was not ready. I was told to come back later. Later meant that I would have to find a way to leave my job to pick it up. To add insult to injury, while at work, I received an email confirming that the pie had been picked up. I spoke to someone about this, who apologized and assured me the pie was now ready for pickup and had not been given to someone else. Finally, I got this pie...which wound up tasting kind of like a school cafeteria pie. Really disappointing. Everything else I've ever purchased from Ambrosia was delicious (strawberry cake, king cake, etc.), so I'm not sure what changed. But between that and the pickup situation, I guess I'm done.
