Surprising my wife
I made reservations for a party of 4 with outdoor dining. We arrived right on time but waited while 2 parties without reservations were seated before us. We were not seated outdoors because they said they were overbooked for patio dining. Two of us found the indoor dining uncomfortably chilly. There was an empty 2 top next to our table for 4 indoors, but looking on the patio, there were two 4 tops being occupied by a party of only 2. The service was slow and our requests for drink refills had to be requested twice and then the refills were finally broughtâ¦with our check. The food was delicious and usually the service is excellent. However, this is our first experience with the Sunday brunch. Maybe we will just avoid the brunch in the future.
The food and service were superb! Out waiter was so friendly and helpful. He made great suggestions and I really enjoyed interacting with him. Will definitely be back to try more things on the menu

Perfect, except restaurant was FREEZING. Waitress was amazing and brought us the little fire pits used for sâmores, which helped a lot.

In town for a wedding and wanted to try somewhere new. Come to Baton Rouge often. Website pics looked nice. Booked outdoor patio. There are two areas outdoor⦠one covered and one not covered. Covered areas have fans blowing on tables. Open table booked us an uncovered table. It was hot and had mosquitoes. Didnât bring water for ten minutes. Tried to give us other peoples food twice. We only stayed for appetizer which was boudin quesadillas and drinks. Quesadillas were amazing. Would order them again if we ever go back. Old fashion drink was not good at all. Good selection of wine. We decided to leave after that and go somewhere indoor. Service was very slow. Not usually picky or leave reviews but hope this helps on both sides.
Went to SoLou Thursday night. It was packed, with a very fun and relaxed vibe. Service was excellent - we never had to wonder where our server was, and food and drinks arrived promptly. The cocktails were excellent, and they had a really good wine selection. Appetizers were delicious: we had the shrimp corn dogs, fish dip, and charbroiled oysters. She really enjoyed her lobster, and my fish in the bag was great. We finished up with drinks next door at Olive or Twist. Overall, a great meal and date night!
