Very good catfish. Beans and rice were good, but would like more spice. Spiced up a bit with seasonings, but couldn't get to the flavor I wanted. My daughter really liked the boudin, but also wanted it more spicy. Potato salad was good. My son liked the jambalaya too. Great customer service.
I’m from BR but moved to Dallas, came home to visit and decided to eat here based on the great reviews. This place was disgusting and I’ll never return, the only good thing is they honored my military discount. I ordered the Friday special of shrimp fettuccine with a side of red beans, a salad and cornbread, my son ordered the kids jambalaya. The shrimp was tiny frozen shrimp I expect good fresh seafood in Baton Rouge, the sauce was runny, and the noodles were hard and cold. I’ve never seen red beans prepared like this absolutely zero flavor, it’s obvious they were from a can and they don’t serve rice with it. The “salad” was just iceberg lettuce from the bag on the plate, the dressing was in packet like ketchup. The jambalaya for my son, a child’s plate, had one chunk of meat in it that had to struggle to shred himself, also not tasty. The presentation of this meal was very sloppy, I felt like I was in a school cafeteria. We probably would have been better off grabbing a frozen dinner from the Walmart across the street.
Excellent food, friendly staff, timely delivery to your table. Affordable.Definitely one of the BEST Jambalayas in town!
Excellent Pork and Sausage Jambalaya which you cannot get from other nearby stores. Huge chunks of tender pork that melt in your mouth.
Rice and Roux is a great place to eat, the food is delicious and the prices are affordable. They also appreciate military and other uniformed service providers.
Food was not what I expected at all. There was little to no flavor and a lot of rice .. like way More rice than meat. I was expecting it to be flavorful / spice .. it was none of that . I could have come out better making this at home
After stopping by a place in Slidell and getting poor service and food we went down the road and found this place. The food was amazing and the customer service was phenomenal. If we are ever back in the area we will definitely go back. Thank you guys from this Texas girl for great food and service!
YOU WILL GET SICK. The few unlucky ones of us who ordered from this “restaurant” today through major menus all got sick. We all either threw up or had the BGs. Be wary when ordering from this place because the only two options after consuming the food is for it to aggressively come out the front or the back. Be warned. It’s also not seasoned very well, I see all these reviews complimenting the quality and it really goes to show how little even Louisiana residents know about good Cajun and Creole food. Sad. Gross. Disappointing. Tasteless.Update: “serving food all day and haven’t received any complaints” in response to a complaint doesn’t make sense lol. No thanks. You’ve done enough damage. I’ve learned I won’t order when you are the restaurant offered on major menus. That’s all the help I need.
My mom and I normally have our lunch dates here!! AMAZING FOOD. I’m a very “picky jambalaya” person, there’s is the only jambalaya other than my family’s that I will eat! There cherry cheesecake is to die for! If you shop at Albertsons there is always a coupon for a free dessert on your receipt!!!
Was horrible. Valentine’s Day to say the least. If you like ALL rice in everything and two crawfish in your étouffée then this is the place for u. Not worth it. I wouldn’t bother. EVER!!
