not worth the wait menu is misleading order of sea food combo came in without Oysters and once questioned we were told by the rude man at the register, owner I suppose, that the are too expensive. interesting fact was that he offered no excuse other than his cost for short changing the customers. he also had the nerve to call my questions regarding one hour wait an ugly encounter. REALLY!! NEVER AGAIN

4-9-22Came here around 3-4ish.The Red Beans and Rice with Sausage is the Best I have ever had...besides the one I make! The seafood gumbo? Don't order it. It looks like a chicken noodle soup broth, and it just is not that tasty. The chocolate cake? Pass on that, too.It just didn't taste good at all. The chocolate icing tasted like there was a raspberry sauce or extract mixed in it. That taste really threw me off.Friendly folks work here.Dining outdoors was our preference.I will be back!

Gumbo was excellent! Highly recommend. I didn't care for the open faced roast beef, but my son loved it.

Went here because I knew they almost lost their family business during COVID. They were bailed out and helped by Todd Graves from Raising Canes. I wanted to support a local business. The staff was arrogant. The Rich Boy Po Boy and catfish platter were good but not worth a 45 minute wait and an attitude. I’m glad they seem to be doing well now but it’s unfortunate they haven’t learned to appreciate their customers.

Great local food. If you're in Downtown Baton Rouge don't miss this place.

We were looking for a place downtown with quick food to take a seat. Some kids passing by told us to come to this restaurant after we found that our first choice was closed. The staff were very nice but first thing we noticed was that nothing was clean; the condiments were expired too! The fried food came out quick tasted good, but we were disappointed with the rest of our experience. We also ordered an appetizer along with a few other dishes; it took forever to come out even after alerting the staff. The gumbo tasted good but it was cold, the tuna salad was bland and the greens weren’t fresh. We were most unsatisfied with the spaghetti and meatballs; it was tasteless and the astronomical amount of sauce drowned the soggy noodles. We also noticed a great deal of gnats swarming the table and the facilities weren’t clean. Indeed a cheap experience.

Good food at a good price.

Good shrimp poboys and red beans and rice. Great for lunch. Beer comes in a super iced mug! Order at the counter, and food is brought to the table. Didn't try breakfast, but heard it was good.

Love the updates to the front. Been gone a few years and almost didn't recognize it. Can't ever go wrong with a shrimp poboy and a glass bottle coke! A staple of downtown for over 50 years.

The service is outstanding with everyone and terrific real Louisiana food. From the gumbo to the main food, all is terrific. Expect a large turnout as it’s a local favorite. Next to the waterfront and capital area. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!!!!!
