It is a good place to eat bbq. I go the chicken and sausage plate and it was filling try the lunch specials
All around good solid BBQ, the meat was tender and warm. The baked beans were awesome and the Mac and Cheese was top notch.So why only four stars? Because I prefer BBQ that has more of a kick. This was good solid “Q”, I just prefer it spicier.
Of the 2 locations in Baton Rouge, this is definitely the one less likely to put you in the hospital from a food-borne illness IMO. Dining room never seems to be open when I go. The baked beans is the only reason I keep throwing money at them. So much potential unrealized.
Tender meats cooked to perfection. The staff/cooks outspoken great attitude as well good price for a taste bud blasting BBQ experience. Clean and kept, I enjoyed in it's entirety.
Rude, service is VERY SLOW. Was in the drive through 30 minutes although I was the second car. Had to wait to get my order taken at the window, then wait to get my give my payment and my food. I was not greeted or not did thru apologize for the wait. The food was fresh but the portions use to be more..The homemade BBQ sauce is disgusting. They really have some solid food but needs to work on their customer service
Only had a chance to use the restroom which definitely needs some updating. Was trying to try a new restuarant but there was a hour wait for ribs and a 20 min wait for chicken at 1:00pm. The sides looked as though they needed to be replenished. Maybe we came right after a rush. It did smell nice.
Wow, I had high hopes because of the reviews. But the kitchen was dusty and gross. Chicken was dry, ribs had zero flavor. Mac and cheese wasn’t bad, and sausage was good. Workers don’t want to be there.
No flavor. Dry chicken. Workers couldn’t care less. Don’t waste your money. Go to Couyons instead.
Just as good as I remember it! Haven't been there since I worked next door in the '90's and it's almost exactly the same. I'm a fan of their brisket, potato salad and beans. They have the best beans in the world and I appreciate that the potato salad is made with dill pickles rather than typical sweet relish.
2 stars instead of one because one of the three staff I came in contact with was pleasant, the other two acted as if they didn't care I was there. Food was NOT good at all. Chicken was rubbery and beef was so dry it was almost inedible. Will not go back, I'd advise the same to other bbq seekers.
