Powdered dry eggs, uncooked grits, terrible breakfast sausage, and some pretty decent biscuits I have to say. Hostess hooked us up with free coffee because she was busy and the biscuits were nice but overall that breakfast platters were completely terrible and me and my friend did not come close to finishing and found it difficult to eat what we did. Pass on the 8 dollar plate and get a 5 dollar plate from McDonalds. You would be more satified. If you go back all the way to four years, it is saying the same thing. People are saying the same thing about quality and how they have to throw thier food away because it's inedible. Same automated response from owner about changing things and making it better but it seems that it has never happened. Stay tuned for the auto response. Do better...
Situated on the ground floor of the ultra-classy Watermark Hotel in downtown Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Milford's on Third offers true New York City deli favorites with a little Southern charm and flavor. Located at 150 3rd Street, it is open for breakfast, lunch and after-work pickups from 6 to 2:30 daily and 6 to 6 daily for grab-and-go service. A downtown favorite since 2016, workers and tourists begin their day with a bowl of oatmeal with cut fruit or a breakfast platter with scrambled eggs, grits, sausage and biscuit or a cinnamon bagel with strawberry or cream cheese schmear or cinnamon rolls. Lunch is a delight with a choice of deli sandwiches, bagels with schmears, salmon salad or home-cooked matzo ball soup. How about a turkey sandwich with avocado, Swiss cheese, bacon, lettuce and tomato on multigrain bread? Or a chef salad with greens, shredded cheddar cheese, ham, boiled egg, tomato and ranch dressing with shrimp? Or one of the house's specialties, the Milford sandwich with pastrami, Swiss cheese and spicy mustard on rye? Or pulled chicken with BBQ sauce on a sesame seed bun? Or smoked ham, cheddar cheese and provolone on sourdough? Or a couple of traditional favorites, pastrami on pumpernickel or corned beef on rye? Whatever your choice, you're not going to leave hungry or dissatisfied?
When I saw Matzo ball soup on the menu, I got excited. A Jewish friend introduced me to this simple, filling bowl of comfort, but there are no Jewish delis around Baton Rouge that I know of. So, on this cold, dreary day, I stopped in and ordered some to go. A short time later, I opened the container and was shocked to see Noodles and tomatoes in a broth. I did eventually find 1 1/2 very small undercooked Matzo balls under the noodles. Now I understand that everyone's Mama cooks things differently, but in my searches for recipes for Matzo ball soup, the balls are large and are not surrounded by anything other than broth. It's called Matzo ball soup for a reason. Will this deter me from trying other items on their menu? No. But I'm afraid this soup is not the bowl of comfort I was hoping for. ?
Amazing cheese and ham sandwich. Thick ham cut from the bone. Delicious and totally filling.
Just basically a grab and grow place we were quite unimpressed with the breakfast plates which were dry and tasteless the eggs were cold. Forget this place for any kind of breakfast really. Bagels were just OK. The coffee was fine.
Great service. Just to be clear, I rarely eat other people's eggs. I ate all my eggs!
One of my absolute best spaces!!!! Anita, is one of the brightest, friendliest and knowledgeable people there! I highly recommend adding Milfords to your AM to do’s!!!!
The ladies behind the counter were super friendly, and the smoked salmon bagel was great. The coffee sort of put me off, being that it was just in a pot up front instead of behind the counter for them to prepare fresh. Still comforting coming in from the cold!
Amazing service. Amazing food. Great atmosphere. A must! We went for breakfast
Breakfast there was on time and delicous
