such a vibey place. the food is sooo good and it never disappoints. i don’t go here often, but when i do, it is amazing. the staff is always so nice and take care of you great. it is pretty pricey but it is totally worth it. if you are going here, make sure to dress nice :)
I enjoyed a chill dinner with great service here at J. Alexander's on a week night. This steakhouse is spacious and we were able to get seated without a wait.The staff was welcoming and respectful (as expected for this type of restaurant) and our waiter was helpful when it came to questions about the menu.Food:I ordered the grilled salmon (great) which came with a side of orzo & wild rice (I was not a fan since it was cold and the rice mixed in could've been softer). I ended up enjoying my friends side of smashed potatoes.Despite the several notices on the menu that meat cooked medium-well or above is not offered or recommended I sure was pleased that my salmon dish was cooked perfectly medium-well and my friend's steak was also cooked perfectly medium-well :)Dessert:Delicious chocolate cake with a scoop of Vanille ice cream. So good! I was also large portion- enough for two.Drinks:I had hot tea for the night. I really appreciated the presentation/spread + addition of honey upon my request.Overall I was really satisfied with the portions/value and service. I'd recommend a visit and would likely return!
Upscale and delicious, food was outstanding as expected. Our server Macy was at another level of service. Food was delivered hot and our drinks never hit bottom. Over all 5* stars isn't enough for this place.
Food was great. Lots of food. Hugh serving of mashed potatoes. The fish taco with avocado was delicious. The meat was thick but my wife complained that is had a lot of fatty pieces for prime rib and waiter commented that it does sometimes contain fat.
My honey brought me here on 4/3/22. It was my first time here. I ordered the crab cakes. OMG...so good. It was real crab meat. We were seated without a reservation or wait. The service was pretty good. I love the intimate dining that the space provides. I really enjoyed this restaurant. We will definitely be back.
I believe it’s all bout which dish you order. There are some dishes that are okay but there are dishes that make it worthwhile to give five stars. I dislike salmon however when I tasted their salmon - incredible! Did not have the fishy smell nor the taste. The flounder was great as well. A little bland however perfectly cooked. Their smashed potatoes are great. The atmosphere is perfect for those small birthday celebrations to a nice evening with a date.
My husband 1st time eating there and on his birthday, food was delicious. He had the best tender steak and loaded potatoe. Our waiter was awesome, best professionalism ever. We shall return!
I love the J Alexander's restaurant in Nashville and was pleasantly surprised to find one in BatonRouge. We stopped in at about 3 in the afternoon and the place was empty. Perfect, except, the two booths in the entire placed were seated right next to each other! Really? Really! We moved ourselves and when I asked our waitress Hannah about that her whole demeanor changed. Miss attitude showed up big time. The entire rest of the time we were there she would not speak to me. Not one word and would not even look in my direction. This continued the rest of our meal which, by the way was not nearly as good as the one we had in Nashville 4 days earlier. When I asked to speak with the manager he kind of blinked and said "yeah well, I'll speak to her about that". Terrible experience at what should have been a nice quiet lunch break during our drive through Baton Rouge. This young lady needs to go back through the training program. Especially customer service... Terrible!

Wow! First time ever at J. Alexander’s and hands down the best steak I’ve had. My family and I came in for a pre Valentines Day dinner. We had the NY Strip, Sirloin & fries, Chicken tenders & the Prime Rib with smashed potatoes…so delicious. Server was nice. But the food and presentation was exquisite. We will be back!!
